ALLEN LAWSON drowned at Wallace on April 25th. Dazzled by the sunlight ALLEN LAWSON lost his balance and fell overboard to his death while leaning on the outer rail of the government pier yesterday afternoon.
No person witnessed his fall, but this is the only feasible explanation
which can be accorded to this drowning.
An hour after he had walked the streets of Wallace, N.S. in robust
health, his corpse was drifting making his way towards the harbour front and pier. At 2 pm came the discovery of his body.
Yesterday afternoon coroner BENTLY's verdict was that LAWSON came to his death accidentally.
The dead man was carried off in the prime of life and was a respected residence of Amherst. He leaves a widowed mother, with whom he lived and a brother and sister. The latter Dr. WILLIAM LAWSON and Miss LAWSON of Halifax.
