MARCH 24
The Springhill mines were the scene of a fatal accident in the afternoon or morning of Friday last, when 2 employees of the company met their death while at work. Their names: JABEZ GRAHAM and HECTOR McKENZIE both married with families.

MARRIAGE - Wallace River
Mr. THOE. J. ROBBINS of Calgary, who arrived here a short time ago and Mrs. L.G. McFADDEN of this place were united in marriage at Wallace, March 19th. Rev. F.. PENTELOW was the officiating clergyman. Mrs. L. G. McFADDEN was the widow of the late THOMAS W. McFADDEN formerly of Parrsboro, N.S.

DEATH - GEO. A. HUESTIS
There are many friends in Windsor and throughout the province who will learn with regret the death of GEORGE A. HUESTIS, who died on the train while on his way from Ottawa to Springfield, Mass. He had been to the capital on business, but ill health compelled him to enter the hospital there, where he underwent an operation and after a short time, feeling that his end was near, expressed a wish to return home and died on the journey.
The deceased who formerly conducted business in Windsor, a watchmaker & jeweler, was about 55 years of age and had for sometime been employed in the insurance business as an inspector.
He was born in Wallace, N.S. and is survived by his widow ( who was a Miss WEBSTER of Pet't Codiac, NB) 2 sons and a daughter. 2 Brothers -
Dr. S.F. HUESTIS of Halifax and M. B. HUESTIS for many years Manager of the Federal Life in Halifax, but more recently of Ottawa and by 4 sisters.

BORN
At Salem, Mar 12th - Mr. & Mrs. BURTON SHIPLEY, a son. At Highlandview Hospital - Amherst, Mar 14th - Mr. & Mrs. WILLIAM MAYEH, a daughter.

Died at Shinimicas, March 9th, infant son of Mr. & Mrs. LORNE S. FISHER, age 2 weeks.

DIED
The death of Mrs. CLARENCE EMBREE, a sister of Mrs. N.T. ROCKWELL of Amherst occurred at Beachmont, Mass on Feb 24th. The deceased was the daughter of the late CHARLES WEEKS of Tidnish and leaves a large family connection to mourn her death. The brothers are WILLIAM of Birch Ridge, JAMES of Amherst, BENJAMIN of Baie Verte, JOHN & CHARLES in Mass.
The sisters are:
Mrs. ROCKWELL - Amherst
Mrs. JOHN ROSS - Amherst Shore
Mrs. RUFUS OULTON - Baie Verte

A family of 2 sons and 3 daughter are all married in the New England states.

Edgar ARMOUR started for the west a few days ago. His wife & family went to her mothers until it be known if he prefers the "wild & wooly west" or finds N.S. good enough for him.

OBIT - DANIEL HARKNESS
At Westminister, B.C. on the 15th inst the late DANIEL HARKNESS passed away after more than a years duration. The deceased was a former resident of Hansford, Cumb Co., N.S. and for many years a well known lumberman. For the past 13 years he has followed the same business in that province on the Pacific Coast. The surviving family left to mourn are, one daughter Mrs. A.A. SUTHERLAND of Oxford and 2 sons, PERCY HARKNESS of Trail, B.C. and CONN HARKNESS of Greenwood, B.C.

FRANK HARPER a native of Charlottetown who for the past 9 years has occupied a prominent place in the Canada Car Co. died Saturday nite at the age of 43 years, after a long illness of cancer. He is survived by a wife and one child. Remains were taken to Charlottetown Monday for interment.

Mr. JAMES FAHEY died on Monday at the residence of Mr. Wm. C. FRASER, Rosendale at an advanced age. He is a brother of Messrs PHILLIP & JOHN FAHEY of Mt. Pleasant.

The Funeral of Mrs. DOWNING, mother of counsellor S.J. DOWNING was held at River John yesterday.

Mrs. CALVIN PALMER, who spent the past week visiting friends in Rockley & Port Phillip returned to her home in Houlton, Me, on last Saturday.

Died at Bay Head, Col. Co, N.S. March 24th Mrs. HUGHINA MacDONALD aged 73 years. Leaving to morn the loss of a loving mother, 3 sons and 3 daughters.
