OBIT - Mrs. JOHN M. PEERS

Death took Mrs. NANCY MORRISON PEERS, 73 years old early yesterday morning at St. Patrick’s hospital, where she had been ill but a short time. Born in Colchester county, Nova Scotia, in 1864, daughter of WILLIAM and JANE LAYTON MORRISON, she was married to JOHN PEERS on October 6, ?? and came with him to Montana in 1893. During the last 26 years Mr. & Mrs. PEERS have made their home at Woodworth in the Blackfoot Valley where she has been a leader in church work and community progress of all kinds, a beloved mother and neighbor.

She is survived by her husband, 4 sons, 1 daughter and 21 grandchildren. The sons are:
JAMES of East Weymouth, Mass
ARTHUR in Spokane
WILLIAM at Woodworth
ELISHA in Missoula.
The daughter is: Mrs. C.O. WHITE of Augusta, Mont.

Mrs. PEERS was a member of the Presbyterian church and later of the Methodist church. Her funeral will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the March chapel with the service conducted by Dr. JOHN N. MacLEAN. Interment will be in Missoula Cemetery. --- The Daily Missoula, Missoulin, Montana.

Williamsdale
DIED Mrs. J.W. JOHNSON was called to Stellarton on Monday the 17th, inst. Owing to the illness of her little granddaughter, EDNA BERYL ROBLEE. The little one passed away on Tuesday afternoon and the remains were brought to Mrs. JOHNSON’s home on Wednesday accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. ROBLEE and the funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church services conducted by Rev. L.E.G. DAVIES, who preached an eloquent and comforting sermon to those who mourn the loss of their darling baby. Little EDNA was the pet and joy of her parents and grandparents. The large attendance at the funeral showed the sympathy of friends and neighbors, people coming from Westchester, Victoria and Springhill. Beautiful flowers covered the little white casket in which lay the beautiful waxen form.

Safely, safely gathered in,
No more sorrow, no more sin,
God has saved from weary strife,
In its dawn this young fresh life,
Which awaits us now above
Resting in the Savior’s love.

MARRIED
At the Baptist Parsonage on March 26th by Rev. P.R. HAYDEN, RUSSELL W. DICKIE, son of Mr. & Mrs. BEDFORD DICKIE and Miss VIVA M. TAIT, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. GEORGE S. TAIT of Mount Pleasant.

At the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. & Mrs. GEORGE A. KING, Oxford by Rev. P.R. HAYDEN, JAMES D. SHANNON and Miss ENA GRACE KING.

DIED
At Amherst Shore, Feb. 28th, Mrs. SARAH FRASER, age 71 years.

Popular Collingwood Man Dies
A feeling of sorrow crept over the community when it was known that LORENZO E. SHERMAN of Collingwood had succumbed as the result of an operation for an internal trouble at Halifax. Mr. SHERMAN, who has been ailing for some time, went to the city last Thursday with Dr. GILROY. He passed away on Saturday morning, being 53 years of age.

The deceased was very popular and has driven the mail to Oxford Jct. for some years. His bluff, wholehearted manner won him many friends. He is survived by his wife, nee Miss MAY STONEHOUSE of Milvale and one daughter, Mrs. LEON TAYLOR, also 3 brothers,
FRANK S., JOHN W., and CLIFFORD, and one sister, Mrs. H. SWEET and an aged mother, all of whom will have much sympathy in their bereavement.

The remains were taken to Collingwood, where the funeral was held on Monday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering.
