Editor A. DAVID ROSS Passes Away

After an illness of some years, A.D. ROSS, editor of the Amherst Daily News, passed on to the great beyond at his home at 10:30 Sunday night. As a young man, Mr. ROSS taught the public schools in the county. He was a teacher on the Amherst school staff for 15 years.
In 1896 he became Editor of the Amherst News, then the organ of the Liberal Party. He was actively connected with the Amherst Board of Trade, a member of the Presbyterian church and at one time an active worker in LaPlanche Lodge of Good Templars, in these various capacities contributing considerably to the building up of the shiretown.
As Editor, he was able to reach a large constituency and woe betide a public man or politician whom he considered was remiss in his duties. He had a good knowledge of county and national matters and wielded a trenchant pen; in fact, he had no superior in our judgment as an Editor in the Maritime Provinces.

MARRIED
In Nappan Church on June 18th, by Rev. JOHN H. FREESTONE, WILLIAM RICHARD BIRD of Southampton and ETHEL MAY SUTTON, daughter of JOHN and BETSEY SUTTON of Nappan.

The young couple were tendered a shower of useful articles for house keeping at their home on the West Side, Thursday evening. We wish them many happy years of married life.
