Windsor, N.S. - Sept 20th
A sad accident occurred at Falmouth yesterday afternoon. EARL HYSON, 20 years old belonging to East River near Chester has been employed with Mr. E. CHURCH for the past 3 months. He was engaged in picking apples and fell from a ladder only 6 ft from the ground and stuck his head, which doubled under his body and his neck was broken. An inquest was held and a verdict of accidental. Deceased leaves a mother and one brother.

WEDDING SCHURMAN - HEWSON

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of C.B. HEWSON, River Phillip on Wednesday, Sept 17th, when his only daughter GRACE REBECCA was united in marriage to Mr. A.W. SCHURMAN of Collingwood.
The bride entered the parlor, which was decorated with cut flowers and potted plants, on the arm of her father to the strains of the wedding rendered by Miss GEORGIA MELANSON of Amherst. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. WATTS of Oxford in the presence of only the immediately relatives and friends of the contracting parties.
The bride was becomingly attired in a gown of embroidered silk drapped with cream silk all over net and carried a beautiful bouquet of cream roses, lillies of the valley and maiden hair fern.
After the ceremony the guests were ushered to the dining room where a very dainty repast was served. The color scheme of the dining room being carried out in yellow and white cut flowers. After luncheon the bride donned a very pretty travelling suit of navy serge with hat to match.

They were conveyed to Oxford Jct in Mr. FRED BENT's auto, where they boarded the train for interesting parts of P.E.Island on their return they will reside in Collingwood.
The bride was the reciepent of many handsome and useful presents consisting of cut glass, silver, furniutre, etc, including substantial cheques from the groom, father & Uncle of the bride. Also table linen from the firm of Chapman Bros & Cantfield of Amherst.

WATT Goes to Dorchester - Amherst - Sept 18th
Sheriff R.B. H. DAVIS received the necessary papers from Ottawa yesterday in connection with the commuting the death sentence of CHARLES WATT to life imprisonment. The prisoner will be taken to Dorchester on Monday to enter on his long term of imprisonment. While in the Amherst jail Mr. WATT has proven an exemplary prisoner and his friends all hope that through good conduct at Dorchester his release can be secured after some years.
The scaffold, which was erected for his execution has been torn down.

WEDDING THOMPSON - McPHERSON

The marriage of Mr. JACK THOMPSON of this town and Miss LILLIAN McPHERSON of Victoria was solemnized on the 21st at the manse, Pugwash, NS by Rev. J.W. BRITTON.
The bride who was unattended looked charming in a wedding dress of blue serge with lace blouse.
After the ceremony Mr. & Mrs. THOMPSON left by train for New York and other American cities where their honeymoon will be spent. The brides travelling suit was of grey whipcord with hat to match trimed with white ostrich mount.
The best wishes of numerous friends of the popular young couple follow them to their future home in Oxford.

Mrs. LUCY FAULDS, McColl St and her sister, Mrs. ANNIE BLACK of Port Angeles, Washington leave tomorrow to visit relations in Truro, Springhill & Oxford.

Rock Bay, Vancouver Island, B.C. on Sept 13th to Mr. & Mrs. WILLIAM L. MATTINSON, a daughter.

Rt. Hon. R.L. BORDON, Prime Minister after spending a week in Nova Scotia visiting his mother at Grand Pre and at Halifax, left for Ottawa on his special car attached to the Ocean Limited on Sat.

Mr. C. MORTIMER of Montreal spent Sunday in town the guest of his aunt and uncle Mr. & Mrs. S.E. HUE.

Mrs. McFARLAND, baby MALCOLM of Boston is the guest of her sister, Mrs. RICHARD VanAMBURG.

OBIT
There passed away at 1:30 o'clock Saturday morning Sept 20th, LULA, the eldest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. GEO. STONE. The deceased had been a sufferer of tuberculosis and was confined to her bed since June. She was 17 years, 9 months old. There are left to mourn her loss a father, mother, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. The funeral service was held Monday at half past nine. Interment took place at the Catholic Cemetery at Streets Ridge. Father McMANUS officiated.

Miss GEORGINA LEFURGEY of Rockley, who has been employed in Amherst for the past few months, left last week for Boston.

Miss BERTHA MacKINNON of Bass River was in town on Tuesday saying adieu to her friends here before leaving on the following day from Pugwash for British Columbia, where she intends to remain for a few of her future years.

Miss JUANITA COPP returned last week from a 3 month visit in the Canadian west. She visited her brother LESLIE in Swift Current and her sister, Mrs. R.D. HARPER in Winnipeg.
