**Capt. F.N. LeCAIN Passes Away
Although not unexpected, the news of the death of Capt. LeCAIN came as a sad shock to his many friends here and elsewhere in the Province. He and his family made their home in Oxford for a number of years, removing to Berwick over a year ago. He was a public spirited, open handed, courtly gentleman, and will be much missed in the community. In early life he followed the sea, and became master of several of the big ships owned by the EATONs of Eatonville. Afterward he commanded United States battleships, being at the time of his retirement commander of the Caesar. Until Nov 4th, Capt. LeCAIN has had his usual good health, on that date being stricken with hemorrhage of the brain, lingering until about five o’clock on last Monday evening, when he passed away at the age of 75 years.
He is survived by one son, Francis and two daughters, Misses Ruth and Cassie, who will have the sincere sympathy of Relatives and friends in their sad bereavement.
After a short service at his home at Berwick on Monday afternoon, conducted by his pastor, Rev. P.R. HAYDEN, the remains were conveyed to Bayhead, where a service was held by Mr. HAYDEN, the body being laid beside that of his second wife, who was Miss Cassie HENDERSON.
