WEDDING BELLS - HARRISON - KING
The marriage took place on Wednesday, Nov. 11th at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Oxford Jct of Miss RUBY E. KING of River Phillip and Mr. GILBERT HARRISON.
The church was beautifully decorated by the choir of St. Andrews and friends with evergreens, potted plants, carnations, flags and white and blue bunting, etc.
The bridal couple came up the isle together to the strains of Lohengrins Bridal Chorus, played by Mrs. W.A. BLAIR, aunt of the bride. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. MITCHELL, Oxford. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. MITCHELL, in behalf of St. Andrews presented the bride with an elegant Bible, as she was the first to be married in that church. The bride was becomingly gowned in a brown whipcord traveling suit with brown velvet hat and shaded ostrich feathers to match and carried a beautiful bouquet of roses, lily of the valley and maidenhair fern.
Mr. DAN KEITHs auto is waiting to convey the happy couple to the station, where they boarded No. 33 for Moncton, St. John and other points in New Brunswick.
The bride wore going away the gift of the groom, a set of Alaska Sable Furs. On their return they will reside in Nappan.OBIT - THOMAS W. SMITH
The death occurred at Port Elgin of THOMAS W. SMITH of heart failure, at the age of 63 years. He leaves to mourn their loss, 2 daughters, TRESSA SMITH and Mrs. CARL SAULTER, also a son, HERBERT in Calgary. The remains were taken to SHINIMICAS today to await the arrival of his son.In loving remembrance of WILLIAM FRASER, who died at Oxford Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1913, in his 83rd year.
The wedding of Miss VALENTYNE CHURCHILL and Mr. RALPH SHAW PARSONS took place Wednesday, Nov. 11th at half past one at the Baptist Church, Walton, N.S.
OBIT - JAMES GORDON
Mr. JAMES GORDON one of the pioneer settlers at Black River, died at the residence of his son, Mr. GAY GORDON on Thursday, Nov. 12th at the age of 83 years. He had been enjoying very good health until a few days ago when he contracted pneumonia.
The deceased was a man of sterling integrity and respected by all his acquaintances. He leaves a large family and many relatives to mourn his loss , 6 sons and 1 daughter and about 30 grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. His sons are:

WILFRED - New Hampshire
GAY - Black River
CHARLES - Oxford
EDWARD - British Columbia
Daughter, Mrs. W. E. LATHE, Lynn, Mass.
His own family, brother, ISAAC of Oxford Jct.
Sisters, Mrs. SMITH CHAPMAN - Amherst, N.S.
Mrs. MARGARET DOTTEN - Oxford Jct
Mrs. NELSON FILLMORE - Oxford Jct
Mrs. RICHARD BLACK - Weymouth, N.S.
2 sisters in the states.
The funeral of the late JAMES GORDON was held on Nov. 14th, Rev. P.R. HAYDEN having charge of the service. The burial took place at Pine Grove Cemetery. Thus passed the earthly activity of one who was very active in his day and generation.
