**OBIT - Mrs. George AKERLEY
Pugwash, March 13th
The death of Bessie Dewar AKERLEY, aged 75 years, beloved wife of George AKERLEY, occurred at her home Main St. on Sunday, March 7th following a brief illness from pneumonia.
The deceased was a native of Antigonish Co., N.S. Her marriage took place in Mass 50 years ago. A few years later the family removed to Pugwash where they have since made their home.
The late Mrs. AKERLEY is survived by two sisters, Miss Hattie DEWAR of Boston and Mrs. Samuel TURNBULL, New Glasgow and two brothers, Hugh of New Glasgow and James of Boston. She is survived by her husband and four sons, H.G. of Pugwash; Chas. S. Pugwash River, Olive H. of Attleboro, Mass; and Cecil R. at home.
A son Darrel died on May 16th, 1916 at the age of 37 and Hartley, the youngest of the family died at the age of two years.
The funeral was held from her late residence on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. A. M. ANGUS officiating. Interment was made in the Pugwash Cemetery. A number of beautiful floral tributes rested on the casket.
The pallbearers were A.R.D. MITCHELL, Alexander KENNEDY, W.L. FRASER and E.E. PEERS.MARRIED

Pugwash, March 8th. The following is from a Taunton, Mass paper of February 24th, re the death of Stanford L. GABRIEL and his son, Earle GABRIEL, which occurred in that city on Sunday, Feb 22nd.
Stanford L. GABRIEL, for many years in the real estate and insurance business in Taunton, passed away Sunday night at his home on Dean Street from bronchial pneumonia following a short illness of influenza. His two year old son, Earle GABRIEL had died from pneumonia early Sunday morning. A double funeral will be held, Thursday afternoon. Mr. GABRIEL had been stricken with influenza a week ago. The little boy had been ill a few days longer. The family is receiving many messages and expressions of sympathy in the sad bereavement. Mr. GABRIEL is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel C. GABRIEL, by a daughter, Miss Lucille and by a six year old son, Leman. He also leaves one brother, Clifford in Nova Scotia and a sister, Miss Minnie GABRIEL. Deceased was a member of the Winthrop Street Baptist Church.
Stanford Leman GABRIEL was born in Parrsboro, N.S. June 22, 1869. He attended the public schools there and Acadia College, Wolfville, N.S.
He came to New England in 1889 and was in the insurance business in Providence and later in Manchester, N.H. Taunton has been his home since 1895. For many years he was engaged in the Insurance and real estate business in the Bristol County National bank building, and also in stocks and as a promoter. He had been about as usual till about a week before his death.
The deceased was a son of the late James J. and Henrietta Benjamin GABRIEL. His marriage took place in Pugwash in June 1912 to Miss Ethel C. BENJAMIN, a daughter of J. N. BENJAMIN. Mr. BENJAMIN left for Taunton on Monday to attend the funeral. A wide circle of friends will sympathize very sincerely with Mrs. GABRIEL in her grievous loss.ANNOUNCEMENT
