Carrington
**Miss JANET ANGUS of Boston, paid a short visit last week to her aged aunt, Miss JESSIE FRASER, at the home of Mr. CHAS. ANGUS.

A cable received from Pte. NOBEL JAMIESON of 138th Battalion to his parents Mr. & Mrs. J. JAMIESON of North Wallace, states that he and Pte. RICHARD MOODY, of North Wallace arrived safely in England.

Lance Corporal W. G. McIVOR of Gulf Shore, who has been in England for some time has now crossed the English Channel and is on active service somewhere in France.

Lance Corporal J. LLOYD STROMBERG of the 193rd Battalion in writing to his parents Mr. & Mrs. D. R. STROMBERG speaks very highly of the good work of the YMCA in providing refreshments and cheer for the boys coming out of the trenches.

Marriage
Mr. THOMAS F. McAULAY and his bride (nee) Miss MARY MORRISON of Point Tupper, C.B. arrived home on Wednesday, April 17th. After the wedding ceremony, which was performed at the home of the bride at Point Tupper.

They left in the afternoon train for Sydney and other points of interest. They were the recipients of many valuable and useful presents comprising of mahogany chairs and tables, 100 pieces China Dinner Set, Rattan chairs, Linen, Silver, etc.
Mrs. McAULAY was at home to her friends on Wednesday afternoon, May 8th.

WEDDING - SMITH - THOMPSON
On Tuesday morning, May 14th a pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. & Mrs. HOWARD THOMPSON, when their daughter, LUELLA was united in marriage to Mr. FRANCIS WILLIAM SMITH of Fenwick, N.S. At 11 o'clock the
bride entered the parlor to the strains of the Mendelssohn Wedding March, rendered by Miss MARGARET J. SHERMAN of Collingwood. The bride wore a gown of white silk crepe de chene with the convention veil and a beautiful bouquet of cream roses, jonquils and ferns. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. J. WRIGHT, assisted by Rev. A. M. ANGUS of Advocate,
brother-in-law of the bride.
Following the signing of the register, a sumptuous luncheon was served to about 40 friends and relatives. After a short trip the bride and groom will reside in Fenwick, N.S.

Mr. EPHRAIM KING is home from Vancouver spending a few weeks with his friends. He is a son of Mr. OLIVER KING, East Hansford and has been in B.C. for 20 years. His many friends are pleased to see him looking so well.
