*OBIT
Mrs. BELDON TREEN passed away at her home at Bay Head on Friday evening, aged 93 years. There are 2 surviving children of whom Mr. W. S. JOHNSON and Mrs. TULLY of Oxford and Mrs. ELVARD TREEN of Attleboro, Mass are daughters.

OBIT - WILLIAM DICKSON
The death of Mr. WILLIAM DICKSON of Claremont occurred at his home on Thursday afternoon, 11th, after a week's illness of pneumonia, aged some 70 years. He is survived by his wife, and one son, THOMAS, also one married daughter out west.
The funeral was held on Monday Rev J. W. BRITTON of Wallace conducting the service. The deceased was a man who will be much missed by all of the community.

OBIT - G. SMITH McNUTT
Mr. McNUTT passed away at the home of Mr. & Mrs. HIRAM JOHNSON at Little River on Wednesday morning at 3 o'clock, aged 84 years. The funeral will probably be on Friday at Springhill. He is survived by 2 brothers, LODWICK and LEMUEL, who reside in Springhill. Mr. McNUTT removed to Oxford over a year ago, but disposed of his property on account of illness. He was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dr. HERDMAN Wins Appeal Case
At the last October term of the Supreme Court held at Amherst, Mrs. (Dr.) HERDMAN brought an action against the Maritime Coal Railway and Power Company on behalf of herself and infant daughter for damages resulting from the death of her husband, the late Dr. W. W. HERDMAN who was killed on the company’s railway line near River Hebert. The action was tried before Judge DRYSDALE with a jury and jury awarded $6,000 damages - $2,500 to Mrs. HERDMAN and $3,500 to the infant daughter. The company appealed to the Supreme Court at Halifax and decision was given Friday last dismissing the company's appeal and confirming the award of the jury at the trail. M. MELLISH and Mr. McKENZIE for the company - Mr. MILNER and Mr. HANWAY for Mrs. HERDMAN.

At Gulf Shore on Feb. 15th to Mr. & Mrs. J. M. McLEAN, a daughter - GRACE AMELIA.

At Gulf Shore, Dec 27th to Mr. & Mrs. MERRELL LANGILLE, a son.

At Gulf Shore on March 11th to Mr. & Mrs. ROLAND ROBB, a daughter ­ ELIZABETH ALEXANDRIA IDA

Miss JEAN RIPLEY, daughter of Mr. LOUIS RIPLEY of River Philip, and her friend, Miss BETH RATTENBURY of Charlottetown, PEI left Monday, 15th for Montreal, where they will enter the Royal Victoria Hospital to train for nurses.

MARRIED
At Amherst, on Thursday morning, Pte. LORNE WEATHERBEE of Springhill to Miss HILDA DAVIES. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Canon WILSON.

WEDDING - ETTER - BAXTER
A very quiet but pretty wedding took place at the Church of England Parsonage Thursday afternoon the contracting parties being MARGARET JEAN, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. R. M. BAXTER, River Philip and WILLIAM G. ETTER, now of Oxford, son of Mrs. T. J. ETTER, Westmorland Point. Rev. H. E. DIBBLEE officiated. The bride wore a handsome suit of navy blue with hat to correspond. They were unattended and the ceremony was performed in the presence of the bride's mother, Mrs. BAXTER and Mrs. KENNETH MATHESON. Mr. ETTER is well known in Amherst and is a brother to THOMAS and AMOS ETTER of this town. The young couple will be guests at the Terrace for a few days and Mr. ETTER expects to leave shortly for overseas. They will be followed by a host of good wishes by their many friends in the county -- Sentinel.
