OBIT - ALEXANDER M. CLARKE
Many friends throughout Cumberland County will read with deep regret the death of Professor ALEXANDER M. CLARKE, who died Tuesday morning at 7 am at his home in Port Phillip, after an extended illness of some weeks.
He was the son of Dr. CLARKE, one of the pioneer Presbyterian
ministers. Survived by wife, LEONA McNUTT, dau of the late SILAS McNUTT of Port Phillip and 5 sisters.

The funeral took place at the home of his sister Mrs. J. EMBREE, Copp Ave. at 2:30 pm Wednesday. Interment at old cemetery at West Amherst. Beside the remains of his 1st wife and where his father and several other family members are also interred. Mr. CLARKE conducted singing classes all over Cumb Co and at the time of his death was in his 81st year.

OBIT - H. BARRISFORD McKIM
Regret to report death of H. BARRISFORD McKIM of Oxford for the past 16 years, at his residence on Friday morning in his 69th year. He was born at the Head of Wallace Bay, son of the late DONALD McKIM and a grandson of the late ANDREW McKIM. He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mr. S.B. PATTON. 2 brothers, J.L. McKIM of Wallace Bridge and MELBOURNE McKIM of Amherst. D.D. BETTS of Amherst is a brother-in-law. Funeral was held on Sunday, Mr. BUGLEY of Sackville conducted a short service at his late residence. The remains were then conveyed to his old home at Head of Wallace Bay.

Head of Wallace Bay - May 8th
On Sunday 7th, the late BARRY McKIM of Oxford was buried in the Methodist Cemetery in this place. The funeral left Oxford at 10 am and arrived at 2 pm. About 20 teams followed the remains. The service here was conducted by Rev. W.I. CROFT. The deceased is survived by a widow and one daughter, ADA, Mrs. S.B. PATTON of Oxford and 2 brothers, J.L. McKIM of Wallace Bridge and MELVIN McKIM of Amherst.

Mr. HARRIS PEERS had his barn burn yesterday.
Mr. HEIBERT TEED, brother-in-law of Mr. PEERS, burned his hand badly while helping with the fire.

DIED
Mrs. SIMPSON, mother of Mr. JOHN SIMPSON died at his home this morning.

PARRSBORO - MAY 7th
The lower part of a man's body was found on the beach at Bull's Buff, near Diligent River last nite. It was impossible to establish the identity of the remains. It is believed to be the body of EVERETT ALLEN, who drown of Port Greville last fall while rafting logs. It was interred in the Baptist cemetery at Diligent River.

The body of JOHN McLEOD, aged 24 yrs of Port Morien, was found at the side of the railway track near Glace Bay early on Tuesday morning, May 2nd. He had evidently been killed by a passing train during the night, while walking on the tracks.
