**Sunday Fishing
A sad accident occurred on Sunday, Sept. 15th, at Lordon Foy, a small stream about 12 miles from Bathurst, NB on the Miramichi Road, by which EDWARD PHILPIN of Halifax, lost his life. PHILPIN went to Bathurst about 3 weeks ago on a visit to his sister, Mrs. ALLAN ROY. On Saturday last he, in company with ISIDORE ROY and ALLAN ROY went to Lordon Foy for a few days sport, and on Sunday morning the 3 went out to get a few trout for dinner. PHILPIN was last seen alive by the others standing on top of the dam fishing into the pool below, while the others went down the stream a short distance. Hearing a loud splash they hurried back to where they had left him and were horrified to find that he has disappeared. Two hours later the dead body was recovered. It seemed that the victim was either stunned or killed by his fall from the top of the dam for across the right side of his forehead there was a sharp dent which appeared to have broken the skull.

Mr. MALCOLM MILLER has received the following official telegram, stating that his son has been wounded a second time while fighting in France.

Ottawa, Ont, Oct. 9th
Sincerely regret to inform you 901789 Pte. ALTON MILLER, infantry, officially reported admitted 53rd General Hospital, Oct. 1st, gunshot wound right thigh.
