Capt. C.H. ANDERSON is with his family here. He came over from Norway about the last of Feb. He is suffering from an injury he received from a fall on the icy deck of the steamer, bruising his leg.

Grippe proved fatal in the case of Mrs. CATHERINE LOWDEN, whose death took place on the 1st inst. aged 76 yrs. She leaves 4 children as follows:
DICKSON - the elder son a captain on a line of steamer sailing between Liverpool and Australia.
WILLIAM at present in the Klondyke.
VICTORIA, who resides in Boston.
HARRY who is settled on the homestead.

Miss Laura McPHERSON, 24 yrs old, who went to Boston a few days ago from PEI and took lodging in the house at 168 Northampton St. was found dead in her room Thursday morning, asphyxiated by gas.

In the death of Mr. NEIL MATHESON at Birch Ridge last Thursday, Mar 2nd one of the oldest residents of this part of the country passed away. The deceased was in his 88 year. Up until the last year of his life he kept hale and vigorous. He was almost the first settler in Birch Ridge, and cleared the 2 fine farms on which his sons are now settled. He leaves behind him 4 daughters, 3 sons and a large number of grandchildren.

At Lower Wentworth, Mar 1st, by Rev. D.A. FRAME of Wallace, LEONARD FISHER of Middle Stewiacke to ANNA, daughter of HUGH D. CHISHOLM of Lower Wentworth.
