Parrsboro Schooner Burned
Mayor SALTER of Parrsboro, received word that the schooner, St. Maurice, - Capt. BULLERWELLS, bound from Hayti for Mobile, with logwood, caught fire off the south coast of Cuba and sunk. The crew were landed in Cuba. The St. Maurice was built in 1895, was 275 tons registered and was owned by Mayor SALTER and Capt. R.H. BURGESS of Parrsboro. She was extensively repaired last summer.

**OBIT - Mrs. Luch DOTTON
The death took place at her home in North Wallace on Thursday, Dec 18th of Mrs. DOTTON, widow of the late Alexander DOTTON. She was 82 years of age and was stricken with paralysis a few weeks previous to her death.
She was a faithful and consistent member of Wallace Presbyterian Church, her seat in church was never vacant when she was able to attend. Her many neighbors can testify of her many deeds of kindness and sympathy during their sickness and sorrow. She was a valued and esteemed member of St. Andrews Missionary Society. One who never hesitates to express her opinion, always on the side of Truth and Righteousness? She leaves to mourn, three sons, Tremain on the homestead; Kester of Fox Harbour; Osborne in Boston; a daughter Cecelia and a son Avard predeceased her a few years ago. Two brothers also survive her, Hibbert PURDY of Wentworth and Sydney PURDY of Oxford; J. H. LIVINGSTON, ex M.P.P., brother in law of Wentworth and Mr. Sydney PURDY were present at the funeral services. Rev. A.S. WEIR, pastor of the Wallace Presbyterian Church paid a splendid tribute to the life and character of the deceased. Hymns sang were: “ The Lord is My Shepherd” and “Asleep in Jesus”. Interment took place in the family burying ground beside her husband and daughter. A very beautiful wreath from St. Andrews Missionary Society, Fox Harbor adorned the casket.

OBIT - Robert Allen CROWE
The death of Robert Allen CROWE took place in Bridgetown, Wednesday, December 24th, after an illness extending over a couple of years. Mr. CROWE was born in Londonderry, N.S. sixty years ago. He married Ida, daughter of the late Woodworth BOWLES of Waterville, Kings Co. Thirty-five years ago he associated in business with his brother, the late James James CROWE of Annapolis. Later he moved to Bridgetown to accept a position with the Bridgetown Foundry Co.

OBIT - Mrs. Annie BLACK
The many friends in this town of Mrs. Annie BLACK, wife of the late Fred BLACK, regret to learn her death, which took place in Dec 29th at her home in Port Angeles. She is survived by one son, Ottie with whom she lived. Her only daughter May died a year ago, after a lingering illness and it is claimed that Mrs. BLACK never got over the shock of losing her daughter, who was a very sweet and loving disposition and endeared to all her friends.
Mrs. BLACK was in Oxford about six years ago and since then has lived with her son in Port Angeles.
Mr. Parker MORSE of this town is a brother of deceased and also a sister, Mrs. A. WHEATON of Moncton. She was a niece of Mr. N.S. THOMPSON, this town.

At Amherst, on Dec 31st, to Mr. & Mrs. Folton SIMMONDS, a daughter - Dorothy May. Congratulations.

At Little River, on Dec 28th to Mr. & Mrs. Howard JOHNSON, a son - Avard Sarre.

On Dec 24th, to Mr. & Mrs. Roy LANGILLE, a son.

On Dec 25th, to Mr. & Mrs. Netis MATTINSON (this should be MATHESON) a daughter.
At Oxford, on Jan 5th, to Mr. & Mrs. Roland KING, a son.

Mrs. E.P. NEASON (Nee Viva THOMPSON) is visiting at her home here.
**Edward A. THOMPSON of Boston is spending the holidays at his home here.
Miss Clara BROWN of Moncton spent Xmas in town, guest of Mr. & Mrs. N.S. THOMPSON.
Mrs. A.W. WHEATON, who has been guest of Mr. & Mrs. N.S. THOMPSON, has returned to her home in Moncton.
Miss Nellie THOMPSON, who has been teaching in the West for the past year is spending the holiday season at her home here.
Mrs. WILSON of Calgary is visiting in town at her sister’s Mrs. Robert COLBORNE.
