WEDDING - DeWOLFE - WOOD
A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. & Mrs. FRANK DeWOLFE on June 3rd, where their daughter VIVIAN was united in marriage to Rev. WALTER WOOD of River Hebert.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. LUND in the presence of the immediate relatives of the bride and groom. The wedding march was played by Miss KING of Oxford. The bride was becomingly dressed in blue crepe de chene, and carried a bouquet of carnations and maiden hair fern. The many friends of Mr. & Mrs. WOOD join in wishing them a long and happy married life.

BORN
At Little River on May 28th to Mr. & Mrs. DUNCAN McINTOSH, a daughter, weight 8 1/4 pounds.

DIED
At Springhill, May 31st, Mrs. ALEX C. MORRIS, aged 30 years.

At Westmorland Point on Monday June 3rd, Miss REBECCA CARTER formerly of Amherst.

At 12 Adelaide St., Stellarton, on May 30th, Mrs. MARGARET ANNA McKENZIE, aged 89 years.

MARRIED
At the Baptist parsonage, Springhill, May 25th, by Rev. J.A. SWETMAN, ARCHIBALD GRANT and CATHERINE MERLIN.

At the Baptist parsonage, Springhill, May 29th by Rev. J.A. SWETMAN, HERBERT SMITH and JEAN ANDERSON.

Mr. & Mrs. C.C. McNEILL announce the engagement of their daughter, MABEL to Mr. JOHN R. SWAN of New Glasgow, marriage to take place at an early date.

Mrs. R. HARPER and 3 children of Winnipeg are visiting Mrs. HARPER's parents, Mr. & Mrs. COPP.

**Mr. & Mrs. J.W. FACEY of New Brition, Connecticut have been guests of their sister, Mrs. R.L. BAKER, James St.

Returned Soldier Commits Suicide
The body of Private Ben GOUTRO was found on Sunday on the dykes half way between Amherst and Ft. Lawrence. A note was discovered, signed "Ben," saying he was downhearted and was going to drown himself. The body was only recognized as GOUTRO by 2 fingers missing from the left hand. He has been missing since May 14th, but was thought to be with other relatives.

Private GOUTRO enlisted with the 187th Battalion and went as far as England, where he was returned as physically unfit. This was a great disappointment to the young man and may have influenced his act.

Capt. DeW. HOLMES Died at Parrsboro

Capt. DeWILTON HOLMES died at his home in Parrsboro, May 21st age 68 years. The last 20 years he has been in the employ of the D.A. commanding the steamer Prince Albert running from Parrsboro to Kingsport.

The death occurred at Ainsley Hospital, Truro Friday of CHARLES A. McLENNAN, high sheriff of Colchester. He held the office for the past 21 years.
