**OBIT - JOHN RYAN
The death took place in Millvale, January 2nd 1920, at the home of his half brother, Mr. J. MOORING of Mr. John RYAN, at the advanced age of 87 years. He was born in Victoria, Cumb CO., in 1834 and was married over fifty years ago to Miss Margaret RALSTON, who predeceased him some years ago. They had eleven children, of whom nine survive; Mrs. A. SOMERS of Springhill; Mrs. Sydney MATTINSON of Truro; Mrs. Fred COREY of Waverly, Mass; and Miss Rhoda of Alabama; Millard of Natick, Mass., Isaac of Cambridge; Harvey in Brazil, Lyman and Baldwin of Springhill.
He is also survived by two sisters and four half brothers, Mrs. Nelson PURDY of Millvale, Mrs. Thomas SEAMAN of Mansfield, Henry of Collingwood, Samuel of Westchester, William of Londonderry and Jacob of Millvale. The funeral was held on Sunday, Jan 4th at one o’clock and was conducted by Rev. Mr. TOMPKINSON of Springhill. He was a member of the Methodist Church for a number of years. The floral tributes were beautiful, especially a sheaf of ripened barley. The remains were laid to rest in the Baptist Cemetery in Millvale. Much sympathy goes out to the bereaved.

OBIT - Mrs. Chas. C. PURDY
The death of Mrs. Charles C. PURDY occurred at Amherst on Friday at thehome of her daughter, Mrs. W.W. HATFIELD, after a lingering illness. She was 62 years of ago.

OBIT - Chas. LeBLANC
The death occurred at the Kentville Sanatorium of Charles LeBLANC of Amherst, leaving to mourn their loss his wife and three children, also two brothers, Frank of Windsor and Amos of Moncton. The remains were brought to Amherst on the Maritime Saturday evening.

OBIT - Charles JONES
Kentville has lost its oldest resident, also claimed to be the oldest in the Province of Nova Scotia, in the death of Charles JONES, colored, at the age of 106 years and 6 months. He was wonderfully active for his advanced years and retained all his faculties to the last.

**OBIT - Mrs. Isabelle CHAMBERS
Mrs. Isabelle CHAMBERS, aged 87 years, died n Sunday, Jan 18th, and was buried at the Wallace Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan 20th.
She is survived by one son, Duncan of Wallace Ridge with whom she lived, one daughter, Mrs. Charles LIVIE of Brockton Mass and one sister, Mrs. Thomas McLEAN of Wallace Ridge. Her husband, the late Daniel Chambers, predeceased her thirty seven years ago. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. A.S. WEIR. The hymns sung were “Rock of Ages”, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Nearer My God to Thee”.
A wreath of cut flowers was sent from the Ladies Auxiliary of St. James Church of which she was a member. She was also a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church.
Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.

OBIT - Mr. Levi MARSHALL
Middlesex Albert Co., January 20. The death of Mr. Levi MARSHALL occurred at his home here on Friday evening, January 16th, after a short illness of about a week.
Mr. MARSHALL was born at Bridgetown, N.S. eighty-one years ago, and has been a resident of this place for many years. He is survived by his widow and four sons, Dan of Pugwash, N.S., George of Petitcodia, Ira of Moncton and Robinson at home, one daughter, Mrs. Geo. A. KING of Oxford, N.S. He also leaves two brothers, Alexander and Jacob of Point Tupper, C.B.
The funeral took place n Monday afternoon, Rev. A.H. SAUNDERS of Petitcodia, conducted the services at the house and grave. The pallbearers were the three sons Ira, Robinson and George and Walter COLPITTS, Frank GLADSTONE and James ROSS. Interment was n the family lot at Middlesex.
The family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their sad bereavement.

CENTENARIAN
Granville Ferry prides itself on being the residence of Mrs. Lois CASWELL, a highly esteemed lady who reached her one-hundredth birthday on Thursday, Jan 20th, and celebrated the day in a manner befitting a much older person.
Mrs. CASWELL enjoys the best of health, both physically and mentally and has no need of glasses or canes. Mrs. CASWELL was born in Hopewell, Albert Co., N.B.

MARRIED
At the Methodist Parsonage Pugwash by Rev. A.M. ANGUS, David MITCHELL of Amherst Pont and Emma R. WOOD of Amherst Head. They will reside at Amherst Point.
