TRUEMAN REUNION
The spacious grounds of Mr. Thompson TRUEMAN of TRUEMANVILLE were the scene of a grand occasion Monday afternoon, when the TRUEMANS from far and wide gathered in the first family reunion for 20 years. The fates were kind enough to provide a perfect day and from early morning up until the beginning of the festivities all roads led to Truemanville.
By 2 o’clock in the afternoon in the vicinity of 300 guests had arrived, representing the various branches of the family, extending over the surrounding districts and from points even as far distant as California, Calgary and Quebec. The grounds were decorated for the occasion with a profusion of flags and gay bunting and presented a glorious appearance.
Among the outside guests present were James F. TRUEMAN of California, Prof. John TRUEMAN of Truro, Dr. George TRUEMAN, President of Stanstead College, P.Q. Hon. Josiah WOOD, Sackville, Rev. Mr. JOHNSON, Calgary, Mr. Alder TRUEMAN of Sackville, who is 94 years of age and Mrs. Susanna DOYLE of Amherst Head, whi is also one of the older genertions. Others were there too numerous to mention.
At sharp 2 o’clock, the gathering was called to order by the specially appointed Chairman, Mr. James F. TRUEMAN, who delivered a hearty address of welcome, mentioning that there are some 1300 of the TRUEMAN family living at the present time and gave a brief sketch of the AMOS TRUEMAN branch of the family.

WEDDING - WADLEY - MORRIS
A very beautiful wedding took place in the Methodist church, Wallace, on Aug 26th when Susie, the fifth daughter of Charles K. MORIS was united in marriage with Ernest J. WADLEY of Berwick, N.S. The ceremony was performed by Rev. F.J. PENTELOW, resident Pastor of the Wallace Circuit. The pretty church was tastefully decorated with evergreens golden rod and flowers. The marriage took place at 8 o’clock in the evening and a very striking effect was obtained by means of illumination among the foliage decorations.
The bride wore a robe of silver cloth draped with silver lace. She wore a veil and carried a shower bouquet. He sister, Miss Louise MORRIS was maid of honor and attended to relieve the bride at the proper moment of bouquet and gloves. A younger sister, Miss Gladys MORRIS was bridesmaid and little Miss Jessie McINNIS, dressed in pink silk, was flower girl.
The bride was conducted down the church by her father, who gave her away. Mr. Norman BETTS was best man to the groom and the ushers were Messrs Francis McLELLAN, Lawrence GESSNER and Wallace BETTS.
A very delicate and sumptuous repast was served in the home of the bride’s father to numerous guests and the bridal couple received the congratulations of a large number of friends. There were many charming presents and couple drove away amid the good wishes of all.

** Mrs. Minnie CAMPBELL and daughter, Miss Grace and son, O’Dell of Attleboro, Mass who has been visiting relatives in Oxford and Wallace returned to their home on Monday.

** Arthur YOUNG, who has been a guest of his grandmother, Mrs. Minnie EATON, returned to his home in Attleboro, Mass, on Saturday, accompanied by Mr. GESSNER of New York.

** Mrs. May MARK of Mass is visiting her parents, Mr. & Mrs.J.N. BENJAMIN of Pugwash. Her husband Rev. Mr. MARK who was a Chaplain overseas in the US forces has taken a church in Mass and after spending some weeks with these relatives in Pugwash has returned to his charge.

** Bliss SCHURMAN of Boston has been visiting friends in Oxford and vicinity.

MARRIED

At Oxford on Oct 31st by M.B. Whitman, Miss Emma GILLIS and Herbert FILLMORE of Amherst. The ceremony took place at the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Martha THOMPSON.

At St. James Presbyterian church, Oxford, on Sept 3rd by Rev. G.R., Mr. George ZWICKER and Miss Myra, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. W.O. PEEL. Further particulars later.

At Tatamagouche, Aug 19th by the Rev. Thos. SEDGEWICK, D.D., Mable McDONALD, Stake Road to Allison TRENHOLM of New Glasgow.

At Amherst, Aug 27th, by Rev. Dr. STEELE, Rupert Street, Eldred F. LOWTHER of Chignecto Mines to Eva Mae TEED of Wallace Bay.

BORN

At 216 Duke Street, St. John to Mr. & Mrs. B.A. BURDON, a son, Thomas Holland, on Aug 23rd.

ENGAGEMENT

Mayor and Mrs. S.B. PATTON announce the engagement of their daughter Ada to Hance V. THOMPSON of Oxford. Marriage to take place at an early date.

Mr. & Mrs. George I. KING of River Philip announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Alice to Mr. Harold Edward McLELAN of River Philip. The marriage to take place in the latter part of September.

Mr. & Mrs. C.F. McCABE of River Philip announce the engagement of their daughter, Georgia Elspith to John Wycliffe D. MAGEE of Moncton. Marriage to take place in September.
