Annapolis Valley MacDonald Museum - operated by the Annapolis Valley Historical Society, an organization founded in 1977 to oversee the preservation of historical artifacts throughout the Annapolis Valley. The museum contains a permanent art gallery, Living Natural History Exhibit, local historic artifacts, the Nova Scotia Museum's collection of antique clocks, and much more. The contact person there is Ms.Krista Toole.

Colchester Historical Museum and Archives - The museum houses one of the largest non-government archives in the province with an extensive collection of published and unpublished genealogical material as well as microfilms of census, vital statistics, and church records.

Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia (GANS) - Search their membership list for members searching your surname interest. They offer several useful publications for sale. Information on subscribing to the GANS genealogical mailing list is here.

Hantsport and Area Historical Society - This site provides details on Hantsport, Nova Scotia. Publication for sale, a map of the town and a historic walking tour can be found here.

Kings County Historical Society and Old Kings Courthouse Museum - The Family History Committee of The Kings Historical Society is located in the lower level of the Old Kings Courthouse Museum. The largest and most comprehensive genealogical archives in Kings County, Nova Scotia are housed at the Old Kings Courthouse Museum.

Queens County Museum and Historical Society - Featues information on the Thomas H. Raddall Research Centre in Liverpool. The centre was designed for the Family historian, with genealogies of over 1500 Queens County names, compiled by the late T.B. Smith, 500 surname files, Queens County Marriage Licenses 1849 - 1910, Queens County Cemetery Records and Census Record 1871, 1881, 1891 and County Newspaper 1857 - 1971.

Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society - The Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society, founded in 1878, meets monthly (September to May, inclusive) to hear and to discuss individual papers about personalities, places, and events integral to the history of Nova Scotia. Selected papers are published every few years in volumes of the Society's Collections, the latest of which is Volume 44.

Shelburne County Genealogical Society - Topics focus on the Shelburne County Area, and present an outline of the information that we have avaliable at the Society. Resources also include references to places from which emigrants arrived and places to which residents immigrated.

West Hants Historical Society - This site details the holdings of the historical society. Lists of publications for sale, limited search by email and an inventory of the aids that are available in their genealogy room are found here.
