A Homeless Tombstone
Return To Cemetery Page

A woman walking along a ditch-bank off Dietz Farm Road in the village of Los Ranches, New Mexico, found what appears to be a tombstone of a little girl who died more than a century ago. The stone is being stored temporarily in the sheriff department's evidence room and may be destroyed if its home cannot be determined. It is a smooth, brown stone about 2 feet long, and the lettering is worn from weathering.

HE CALLS THE LAMBS TO HIS BOSOM.

Aaron Hagel of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's office confirmed this, stating they have no leads yet to its ownership. People who might have details about the stone are asked to call (505)768-4287 as soon as possible.
