      Rt. 202/206 South just after Thosmor Rd and just north of where Rt. 287-exit 22 lets you onto Rt. 202/206
    • Lane Family Cemetery
      Located between Vliettown and Lamington on Lane Cemetery Road (off of Black River Road). This road is unmarked and now has two residences on it--one is right where I expected to find the cemetery. I did not approach the residence to see if the cemetery was still there.

      At the end of Merritt Drive which is off of Marshall Road near where it let's out onto Gemini Drive. Per 1940 newspaper description: "In Hillsborough Township Somerset County on Old Amwell Road about [?] ½ mile west of Bloomingdale Farm, near landsof Fred R. Wyckoff, a recorder of Hillsborough Township on farmed owned by Estate of Julia S. Fowler and William Fowler." Hillsborough transcriptions are on file at the Hillsborough Library--NJ section; also published in Somerset Messenger-Gazette, June 14, 1940
    • Possibly the Dutch Reformed Cemetery
      I'm not confident about this being the Dutch Reformed cemetery because the transcription page states that that cemetery is in Flagtown--which this one is not; but the map with the transcriptions gives this location. It is located on the northeast corner of Rt. 625/River Road and Orchard Drive Hillsborough / South Branch transcriptions are on file at the Hillsborough Library--NJ section
    • Vroom Family Burying Ground
      Rt. 625/River Road on the Duke Estate across from Old Village Road. From Somerset County Historical Quarterly: "Located on the bank of the Raritan river road, less than a mile east of South Branch, on farm formerly owned by Peter D. Vroom. Subsequent owners, Dr. Davis, John Quick, T. Sexton Wyckoff, and now Mr. N.H.F. Randolph, of Plainfield. Many other families besides those of the Vrooms are buried there; other of the Vroom family being in the Dumont burying-ground (see infra). The older part of the ground is enclosed. There are various old, brown-stones, without names, or even initials, besides those whereon names and dates appear, as given below."       On the north side of Zion-Wertsville Road just east of where it intersects with Spring Hill Road (near the crook in the road). Hillsborough / Rock Mill transcriptions are on file at the Hillsborough Library--NJ section; also in an unknown newspaper dated May 22, 1936.
    • Hill Cemetery AKA Nevius-Cornell Cemetery
      Hist. Soc. notes say it can no longer be found. On the north corner of Rt. 533/River Rd./Millstone River Rd. where it intersects with Line Rd. From notes with the transcriptions: "Cemetery on old Nevius Farm, now owned by Geo. W. Norton, locatedon road from Millstone to Blackwells Mills, just beyond old Blackwells Mills school house….. 1040 Millstone River Rd." Hillsborough (near Montgomery & Franklin borders) transcriptions are on file at the Hillsborough Library--NJ section
    • Holy Ghost Carpatho
      In front of Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rt. 533/Millstone River Road just south of Kupper Airport Hillsborough
    • Dumont Burying Ground
      On the south side of Rt. 625/River Road west of where Roycefield Road forks into this road. Per SCHQ: "The Dumont family burying-ground is located on the south side of the Raritan river about one mile southwest of the village of Raritan. …The grounds are surrounded by a substantial brick wall…built by Peter B. Dumont in 1827 and in 1911 was repaired by the Loomis family. At the latter date, as an extra protection, the wall was covered with plaster. The date of the wall appears on the outside of the west wall."     • Ditmars Burying Ground
      Between Clerico Lane (a private road) and the Railroad tracks. Per newspaper clipping: "Cemetery on Clerico farm formerly Ditmars near Hamilton Station, Hillsborough Township and leading south from Walter French Residence."     • Staats Burying Ground
      Hist. Soc. notes say it can no longer be found. Between Clerico Lane (a private road) and the Railroad tracks. Hillsborough transcriptions are on file at the Hillsborough Library--NJ section; also in Somerset Messenger-Gazette, Dec. 22, 1938
