The Passaic County Historical Society Genealogy Club
was established in 1985 as an adjunct to the PCHS for the purpose of advancing genealogical study and discovering, obtaining, preserving and perpetuating whatever may relate to genealogy, biography and family history in Passaic County, New Jersey. In addition, the Club assists the Society by publishing and preserving Passaic County genealogical records.

We are headquartered at historic Lambert Castle, Valley Road, Paterson, New Jersey.  Regular meetings are held on the the second Saturday of each month, September through May.

The Society's library collection includes various hereditary/patriotic society publications, transcripts of various Passaic, Bergen and Essex County church and cemetery records, special census records, newspaper abstracts, city directories, compiled family histories, family group sheets and historical works.  A surname database and card file are maintained to which researchers may submit information.  We have placed some of this material on the internet:  Resources On Line From the Collection

Visitors are always welcome to attend our monthly meetings as guests; however membership in the PCHS automatically entitles  you to membership in the Genealogy Club.  In addition to our monthly meetings, you will receive "The Castle Genie," the quarterly newsletter of the Genealogy Club now combined with "The Historic County," the Society's newsletter.  Membership also entitles you free Museum admission, and the opportunity to use the Library's abundant historical resource material at no additional charge.  You will also receive advance notice of any upcoming Historical Society functions and events.
