The Ocean County Genealogical Society was originally founded by members of the Ocean County Historical Society. Eventually it became a separate organization.
The purpose of the group is to provide a forum for people who are researching their family history. It allows us to be able to share our genealogical adventures and learn from each other. We try to schedule speakers on genealogy related subjects and
arrange field trips for research.
New members are always welcome no matter what their level of expertise and we are glad to help beginners. We meet in the Home Town Dairy Room found on the second floor of the Ocean County Library in Toms River.
Some of our members are doing local research but most are also doing genealogy from other states and countries.
We invite anyone who is interested in researching their
family history to join us.
