The Merrimack
Historical Society has prepared the following resources for educators
regarding the history Merrimack, New Hampshire.
- Collections
(artifacts and documents), town
histories, and genealogies of local residents
- Take a
Field Trip to the Merrimack Historical Society, we offer tours
to school groups with chaperones. Contact
us regarding a tour, so your students will learn how early
residents lived, played, worked, and what they wore.
- Talk with
your students about interesting Merrimack
residents who helped shape history.
- Teach your
students how to "Grow" Their Family Tree. This is a
wonderful way for you to teach U.S. History with a focus on their
personal histories.

in Colonial America - This is a unit for grades 4th-5th
that clearly describes the lives of children of the European
settlers. This unit will then proceed to describe early homes,
home care, clothing, chores, education, food, and recreation.
An overview of a typical child of Williamsburg and Virginia
are also included. Illustrated with photos and reproductions,
books that cover much the same background will be listed for
children and adults alike to use as a reference to learn about
this influential part of the United States.
