 The is a well planned effort to organize  the genealogy materials on the Internet. This  project is supported by hundreds of volunteers all across the country. Basically, the system  is arranged by states, counties and  towns.   Each county  has   a coordinator  who  is responsible for maintaining a  site of  resources which are available for that county.
My name is Birde/aka "Rosa" Rediger.  I am  the Carroll County, New Hampshire Coordinator. My goal is to facilitate access to records & information of a genealogical nature for Carroll County. This will be an on going project and there will be frequent updates. Please enjoy this site and check back often.

A Little History

Origin: Sandwich, NH  was chartered in 1763. The land was considered so inaccessible that the grant was enlarged, making Sandwich one of the largest towns in the state. It was named in honor of John Montagu, fourth Earl of Sandwich. The Earl is known as the inventor of the sandwich, requesting from his servant a thin slab of meat placed between two slices of bread, which he consumed while intent upon the gaming table.

In 1790 the population was 905.

Sandwich is one of those communities that when you visit it you feel like you never want to leave.
