The following Archives, Libraries and Societies are located in Concord and Manchester, New Hampshire. 
New Hampshire Division of Records Management and Archives

(They have no birth, death, or marriage records.) 
Often referred to as the New Hampshire Records and Archives, it holds the provincial (court, probate, and deed) records before 1771 (and some after that date), maps, military records, and state copies of the federal censuses.  Many records were published in the New Hampshire State Papers, including original records before 1771 that are cataloged and accessible in the archives.  Additionally, this office also has many original town records and all legislative petitions.

New Hampshire Historical Society

The society includes a library, museum, and gift shop with superb collections of New Hampshire research materials and a large collection of local history and family genealogies.  Microfilm copies of the Province Deeds and Probate records are located here.  A strong point is the magnificent manuscript collection.

All the microfilm collections of town records, post-1900 original newspapers, and census records are housed here, as is the WPA index to town records.

New Hampshire Society of Genealogists

Semi annual state meetings are held.  The society publishes a newsletter of current events and news, and The New Hampshire Genealogical Record, a journal of scholarly articles, complied genealogies, and abstracts of records.  A family register for all individuals and families known to have lived in New Hampshire before 1901 is maintained by the society.  Inquiries concerning the family register can be sent by mail.
