Lycurgus Pitman  (1848-         )

Hon. Lycurgus Pitman, son of Hon. G.W.M and Emeline (Chubbuck) Pitman, was born in Bartlett, April 9, 1848. His early years were passed at home, and he received the school advantages his native town could afford.

In 1870, he started a business in North Conway as a pharmacist, and has since resided there. Mr. Pitman married December 25, 1870, Lizzie I., daughter of caleb and Emeline B. (Kenney) Merrill, of Conway. They had three daughters: Minnie E., Lena E., and Millie I.

Mr. Pitman was a very friendly individual and possessed the ability to make friends. This was evidenced at many testimonials that had been presented to him. His circle of friends both in and out of the state was large and no one stood higher as a man, citizen, and a gentlemen, among his friends and intimates.
