Nathaniel Grant, M.D.
(1804- )
Dr. Nathaniel Grant,
is the grandson of Joseph Grant the
emigrant, and son of Edward Grant and
his wife Elizabeth, daughter of
Jeremiah & Elizabeth (Linscott) Leavitt.
He was born in Lebonon,Maine. He studied
medicine at Limerick, ME and Hanover and
Brunswick medical schools, and was graduated
the later part of 1829.
Dr. Grant practiced medicine at
Norway,ME, for two years and married
Charlotte S. Hobbs, daughter of
William and Catherine (Weatherly) Hobbs,
of Norway,ME. From Norway he went to
Guilford and then on to Wakefield remaining
there in active practice until November,
1836, when he came to Centre Ossipee.
The
children of Dr. and Mrs. Grant were:
