DONATIONS TO THE LIBRARY:

BRUNING ARMY AIR FIELD HISTORY donated by Virginia Ramsbottom of Hebron, NE, a 371 page spiral bound book contains articles taken from area newspapers, histories of airoplanes (sic) based there, names of land owners, personal accounts of civilian base workers, plane crashes, etc.

Ray DeVries of Lincoln, NE donated the following 4 items:

IMPRESSIONS OF 1954, UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY a 64 page hard bound book showing photos of faculty, photos and short biography of each senior student, pictures of underclassmen and members of two fraternities.

THE DENTAL CORPS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY 1912-1962 a 132 page soft cover book is a chronological 50 year anniversary of the Corps featuring World Wars I and IT and the Korean War. Many photos are included.

KAPPA SIGMA-ALPHA PSI CHAPTER LETTER-UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA 1923 and 1924. The 1923 22 page soft covered book lists officers, class members by class, pledges, sports with alumni directory. The 1924 book has 28 pages with the same information.

Pauline Esslinger of Bern Kansas compiled and donated the following 2 books:

DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION NEBRASKA ANCESTOR DIRECTORY 1894-1994 a 540 page spiral bound book has an alphabetical listing of Nebraska ancestors followed by members name, rank and chapter name.

DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION NEBRASKA ANCESTOR INDEX is a 230 page spiral bound book listing members in alphabetical order with page number

Ancestry Incorporated of Salt Lake City, UT donated the following 3 books:

DEAR DIARY by Joan R. Neubauer, a 45 page soft cover book explains the art and craft of writing a creative journal such as the purposes of writing a journal, what you should use to record your memoirs, what you should write about and the joy of rereading your journal.

PRODUCING A QUALITY FAMILY HISTORY by Patricia Law Hatcher CG, a 278 page soft bound book with index is a valuable tool to read before writing and publishing your family history. It explains preparation, organization, selection of type, book design, format, camera ready pages, editing, wether to self publish or contract with printer, marketing, storage etc. that most of us don't realize unless we have published in the past.

CHICAGO AND COOK COUNTY-A GUIDE TO RESEARCH by Loretto Dennis Szucs, a 517 page soft bound book with index is an excellent book read before doing research in this area. It includes addresses of each available place to research along with what records are found at each place. Listings of reference books. As. an example the name, address, phone number of the 200 cemeteries in the Metropolitan Chicago area. No resource has been missed.

LAUGHARNESHIRE CONNECTIONS-SOME BENJAMINS AND THOMASES OF PENDINE SOUTHWEST WALES AND FULLERTON NEBRASKA donated by Mary Douthit of Sandusky, Ohio, sister-in-law of the author. This 159 page soft bound book is the family history of

Library Donations continued:

William and Pollie Benjamin with 3 of their 4 daughters who came from Wales in 1895 and settled in Platte and Nance Counties of Nebraska. Their oldest, a 7 year old dauther remained in Wales with her maternal grandparents. Seven more daughters and one son were born in Nebraska. Seven daughters graduated from the University of Nebraska. Parents of the author, Janet Weir of Boulder, CO, taught at the School of Agriculture at Curtis. Many Nebraska towns are mentioned in the book.

MY FAMILY JOHNSON-PALMER WRIGHT-DUNCAN donated by the author, Bessie Day of Wilsonville, OR, is a 274 page hard bound book with index compiled from a scrapbook, diaries and family information. Hiram Chancelor Johnson born in WI and Mary Palmer born in KS, married in Dayton, OR and had 5 children. Hiram died at 46 years of age. Mary married Lewis H. Meyer. Walter Duncan and Luellen Despain married in Missouuri, who had. 12 children, are buried in Oregon.

SEWARD AND RELATED FAMILIES donated by the author, George C. Seward of Scarsdale, NY, is a 316 page soft cover book with index of names and places. The author was born in Omaha, NE to parents that were traveling house builders. He went to law school in Virginia, married, had 4 children and opened law offices in NY, Wahington D.C. and Hungary. Related family names are Bradey, Corbell, Eley, Hawes, Klonnes, McKay, Phillips, Rugh and Sweger.

DESCENDANTS OF JOHN AND REGINA SCHROER donated by Philip Pankaskie of Kennewick, WA, a 28 page booklet of family group sheets for 2 sons and a daughter coming to U.S. from Germany. They all lived in Fillmore County with the sons migrating to Kansas. Related names are Neiman, Merton, Rolfes, Nehe, O'Connor, Schmitz and Pansaski.

A BRIEF HISTORY HERMAN HEINRICH AND ANNA MARIE LOUISE NUNNEKAMP BLDBAUM AND THEIR CHILDREN donated by the compiler, Duane Blobaum of Joplin, p4), is a 337 page soft cover book beginning with 4 generations of Bloibams (various spellings) in Germany before Herman Heinrich Blobaum. Herman and his wife, Anna, married in 1867 in Germany, came to NY in 1882 with 6 children, one died in Germany. From NY they migrated to Indiana to the area where a former acquaintance by the name of Gestring lived. Two sons were born in IN. They moved to Gage County using a Dewitt address. Two more children were born in Gage county making a total of 11 children. Herman and Anna are buried in the cemetery at Dewitt. History, maps, documents, photos etc. of Herman & Anna with a section for each living child make up the book.

MORE PALATINE FAMILIES by Hank Jones, JR. is a 592 page hard bound book with index of short biographies of some immigrants to the middle colonies 1771-1776 plus new discoveries of German families who arrived in NY in 1710 and later 1717-1776.

DISTRICT COURT RECORDS INTENTION TO NATURALIZE for the following 6 counties. Part I in each book lists name, application date, nation, age and notes. Part II lists name, birthdate and place, port of embarkation, name of vessel, port and date of arrival and residence. CASS COUNTY 1857-1955 47 pages; NEMAHA COUNTY 1855-1941 20 pages; OTOE COUNTY 1855-1929 62 pages; RICHARDSON COUNTY 1857-1952 20 pages Part I only SARPY COUNTY 1856-1915 13 pages Part I only; YORK COUNTY 1870-1929 27 pages

FARNAM. FROM THESE BEGINNINGS WE GREW a 258 page hard bound book describes the hamlet of Keystone that was moved to a site named Farnam in Dawson County. There are 100 pages of family histories, photos, list of veterans and short story of the Ingham village and post office.
