PICKED UP AT FLORENCE

Mrs. W.E. RODGERS of Omaha was in the city last week visiting her mother, Mrs. VOSE.

Mrs. ALLEN of Blair visited Sat. & Sun. with her brother, Clint HALSTEAD.

John TUTTLE is very sick with lung fever.

Colonel BECK of San Francisco, CA, was in the city visiting Captain & Mrs. REYNOLDS.

John WILLIAMS, who was shot in Omaha last week by Sam RAWLINGS, is able to be out.

L.N. WARLIER went to Tekamah Fri. on a business trip.

John & Robert PAUL entertained a number of friends at their home on Main street Mon. night. Refreshments were served.

Mrs. HUPP & Mrs. W.R. WALL spent Wed. visiting friends in Omaha.

Mr. & Mrs. KINDRED, who have been here during the holidays visiting their sons, James & William, returned to Herman Mon.

Miss Edith SUTHERLAND of Blair returned home Sat. She has been here the last week visiting friends. Miss Eunice TRACEY accompanied her home.

August KRONBERG of Blair was in the city one day last week visiting his father-in-law, Mr. MICKLESON.

J. BAILY of Calhoun was a business visitor in the city THURS.

Miss Annie BROWN, one of Omaha's professional nurses, is taking a week's rest at the home of her father, J.P. BROWN, in this vicinity.

At the annual meeting of the Christian Endeavor society of the Presbyterian church last Wed. evening the following officers were elected for the ensuing 6 months: President, Miss Bertie WILSON; Vice President, Miss Olive P. TRACY; Secretary, Miss Ida MILLER; Treasurer, Miss Mary SMITH; Corresponding Secretary, Mrs. W.B. BACKUS.

The school board met Tues. evening & decided to have a school display at the Trans-Mississippi exposition, to be held in Omaha this year.

Miss Lillian BONDESSON returned to Peru, NE, Tues. to resume her studies in the state normal school.

Born, to Mr. & Mrs. C.J. KIERL, last Sun., a boy.
