Mrs. Tray Elwood advises: "My father was adopted by a Methodist Minister (circuit rider) in Nebraska when he was two and his mother died in childbirth, at which time she bore twins who survived and were also adopted by Rev. SLOTHOWER, hence the name LATHROP which was his real name although we always used SLOTHOWER and were close to the family."

Mrs. ELWOOD has traced the LATHROP line back to Rev. John LATHROPP who came to Scituate, Mass, in 1634 from England and she would be glad to exchange information for a SASE.
