LUCY KREITMAN

LUCY KREITMAN……..Lucy Kreitman, daughter of Albert and Olive Clark, was born at Stuart, Nebr. on Dec. 25, 1887 and died Oct. 3, 1986 at the Bethesda Care Center in Bassett, Nebr. at the age of 98 years, nine months and nine days.

Lucy lived with her parents in the Stuart community until the age of 11, at which time she, with her father and family, moved to the Sybrant community where she attended school and grew to womanhood.

On May 1, 1906 she was united in marriage to FrankBlaine Sybrant and to this union six children were born.

They wpent their entire married life on the same place in Rock County with the exception of two years which they lived in the state of Washington.

They attended church in the Sybrant schoolhouse and after church, usually friends and relatives went to one anothers homes for dinners. Lucy and her husband, Blaine, helped in the building of the Sybrant church which is part of the present day building.

She was preceded in deth by her parents; three sisters; three brothers; her husband, Blaine; a son, Frank; one infant son; one grandson, Larry Sybrant; one great grandson who died in infancy; and three sons-in-law, Orville Schubert, Howard Hughes and Lawrence “Rocky” Stone.

She was united in marriage to William Kreitman at Madison, Nebr., on March 13, 1944 and he also preceded her in death.

Lucy was baptized in the Christian faith in the summer of 1917 and a few years later joined the Evangelical church of which she was a life long member. She was active in the Women’s Missonary society and was one of the founders of the Helping Hand club.

Lucy was noted for her strong faith in God and had the ability to pass on to others a feeling of confidence, that there was always a ray of sunshine if you looked for it.

Survivors include her children, Ruby Stone, Ray Sybrant, Mable Gorball and Lester Sybrant; three daughters-in-law, Alice, Bonnie and Margaret; one son-in-law, Elmer Gorball; 15 granchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 13 great,great grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 6 at the Sybrant Community church at 2 pm., with Pastor Charles Davis officiating. Music was furnished by Ann Shaw, Judith DeVall, David Luckinbill and Kristie Keller. Burial was in Sybrant cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Hughes, Orville Schubert, Richard Haszard, Jerry Sybrant, Lee Sybrant, Daniel Sybrant and Darrel Sybrant.

Honorary pallbearers were Fred Swett, Tom DeVall, Gene Hawley and Jim Keller.
