Minnie May WOLF, 88, of Kearney, NE, died Oct. 3, 2011. Memorial Services 
Oct. 7, 2011, at the United Church of Sumner-East Campus. Burial prior at 
the Plainview Cemetery at Maxwell, NE. She was born May 19, 1923, in 
Spalding, NE, to James A. and Rosa Harvey. On March 18, 1944, she 
married Steven Lenno Wolf, in North Platte, NE. He died on Oct. 7, 1971. 
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; 
twin brother, Marion and infant twins, daughter Vivian and son Vernon.

Harold LANTZ, 80, of Lexington, NE, died Oct. 1, 2011, at Tri-County Hospital in
Lexington. He was born March 22, 1931, in Dawson County, to William L. and Mabel
(DeVol) Lantz. Harold was united in marriage to Clara Hemphill on Dec. 26, 1988
in Lexington. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mike and one
sister, Mildred Phillips.

Jerry J. HERNANDEZ, 63, of Lexington, NE, died Sept. 30, 2011, at Good Samaritan
Hospital in Kearney, NE. A Memorial Mass will be Oct. 5, 2011, at Reynolds-Love
Funeral Home in Lexington. Inurnment will be in the St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery
at Lexington. He was born on Sept. 30, 1948, in Axtell, NE, to John G. and Lydia
(Michael) Hernandez. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers,
Donald and John and two sisters, Paula and Delores.

David JELDEN, 80, of Greeley, CO, died Sept.30, 2011 at the NCMC Hospice
Inpatient Unit. Services will be Oct. 7, 2011 at the First United Methodist
Church in Greeley. He was born Oct. 8, 1930 in Columbus, to Edward John and Vera
(Cates) Jelden. David married Rose Marie Hibberd on Sept. 7, 1952 in Lexington, NE. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Don M. HODGSON, age 82, of Brodhead, WI., died Oct. 8, 2011, at University
Hospital in Madison, WI. Funeral services were held Oct. 11, 2011 at Newcomer
Funeral Home in Brodhead, WI. Don was born on Nov. 23, 1928 in Lexington, NE,
the son of Loren and Essie (McClamroch) Hodgson.  He married Laura Ransom on
Feb. 14, 1959 in Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents and two
sisters, LoRee Timmerman and the other in infancy.

Etta C. STONE, 86, formerly of Elm Creek, NE, died Oct. 8, 2011 at the Good
Samaritan St. Johns Nursing home in Kearney, NE. Funeral services will be Oct.
11, 2011 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home Elm Creek Chapel.
Interment will be at the Elm Creek Cemetery. Etta was born April 8, 1925 in
Friend to Fred and Clara (Yager) Kersting. She was united in marriage to Ernest
Stone on Aug. 4, 1944 in Smith Center, KS. She is preceded in death by her
husband; both parents; daughter, Connie Bray; four sisters; seven brothers and
one grandson.

Ila “Irene” LEACH, 76, of Cozad, NE, died Oct. 10, 2011, at the Good Samaritan
Hospital in Kearney, NE. Funeral Services will be Oct. 14, 2011, at the Cozad
Berean Church in Cozad. Burial will be in the Kearney Cemetery. She was born May
28, 1935, in Kearney to Albert and Nora (Hodge) Dobberstein. She was united in
marriage to Clifford “Paige” Leach on Aug. 15, 1954, at Kearney. Irene was
preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paige in 2010; four brothers, Jim,
Cole, Glen and Shorty; one sister, Erma Krueger and one sister-in-law, Ruth
Dobberstein.

Christian M. LAUBY, 96, of Lexington , died Oct. 9, 2011 at his home near
Lexington, NE. A wake service will be Oct. 14 at St. Ann ’s Catholic Church in
Lexington. A private burial service will be held at St. Ann ‘s Cemetery. He was
born Oct. 24, 1914, to Michael J. and Elizabeth (Kjar) Lauby. On March 2, 1946,
Chris was married to Leota Mae Wheeler at the St. Christopher’s Catholic Church
in Houston, TX. Chris was preceded in death by his wife Leota Mae in 2001; son
Joseph in 1980, granddaughter Kirsten Volkman in 2002, grandson Levi in 1985 and
six brothers and sisters.

William “Bill” A. RICE, 95, of Cozad, NE,  died Oct. 9, 2011, at Cozad Community
Hospital. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Oct. 12, 2011 at the
First United Methodist Church in Cozad. A private family burial will be in the
Cozad Cemetery prior to the service.He was born Jan. 3, 1916 in Clyde, OH, to
William Burr and Nettie (Kern) Rice. On June 6, 1937 he married Leota Walker. He
was preceded in death by his wife, Leota in 2002; son, Gary Rice in 2004; infant
twin sons; his parents; a brother, Ted Alden Rice and his sister, Wilnetta
(Robert) Pickard.

Claudine M. CAIN, age 80 of Cozad, NE, died Oct. 12, 2011 at the Golden Living
Care Center in Cozad. Memorial services will be held Oct. 17, 2011 at the Cozad
Christian Church.  Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery
at Caldwell, ID. Claudine was born Oct. 5, 1931 at North Platte, NE, to Claude
and Alma (Burris) Morgan. In 1983, Claudine married Francis M. Cain at Nampa,
ID. Claudine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike in 1984;
brother, Kelly; brother-in-law, Glen; niece, Claudine Wize; and two nephews,
Richard Morgan and Rick Morgan.

Mona M. WHEELER, age 87, died Oct, 9, 2011 in Sun City, AZ. A memorial service
will be held on Nov. 12 at Willowbrook United Methodist Church in Sun City. Mona
was born May 11, 1924 in Todd County, MN., to Clinton A. and Vivian F. Murphy.
Mona was united in marriage to James “Jim” H. Wheeler on Nov. 25, 1951 at the
Clarissa Methodist Church. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband and one brother, Calvin Murphy.

Harold A. SWEENEY, 80, of Cozad, NE, died Oct. 13, 2011 at the Good Samaritan
Hospital in Kearney. Services will be held Oct.17, 2011 at the First United
Methodist Church. Burial with military honors held at the Cozad
Cemetery. He was born on Sept. 27, 1931 to Bradley and Verna Sweeney at Cozad.
On April 12, 1958, Harold married Beverly Ann Herbek at Lexington, NE. He was
preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ray, Ernest and Howard.

Fred WARNEMUNDE, 94, of Lexington, NE, died Oct. 15, 2011, at The Landing
Assisted Living in Lincoln, NE. A Celebration of Life memorial will be Oct. 19,
2011 at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington. Inurnment will be in the
Greenwood Cemetery with Military and Masonic Rites. He was born Nov. 30, 1916 in
Oconto to Fred and Olga (Rohwer) Warnemunde. He was united in marriage to First
Lieutenant Beverlye Hepburn at University Methodist Church in Seattle, WA, on
April 16, 1944. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Beverlye on
July 29, 2011.

Junior E. ROBERTS, 83, of rural Eddyville, NE, died Oct. 19, 2011, at the Good
Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held
Oct. 24, 2011,  at the Eddyville Community Center in Eddyville. He was born Dec.
4, 1927 at Kimball to Ray and Amelia (Mikkelson) Roberts. He married Sarah M.
(Warner) Wiley on Nov. 12, 1977, at Eddyville. Junior was preceded in death by 
his parents; wife, Sarah, in 2008; sister, Elsie Farley and two brothers-in-law, 
Doug Frederick and Keith Farley.

Keith WHITE, 89, of Lexington, NE, died Oct. 23, 2011, at the Lexington Regional
Health Center. Funeral Services will be Oct. 27, 2011, at the First United
Methodist Church in Lexington. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at
Lexington. Keith was born June 25, 1922, in Lexington to Harold Clifford and
Hazel Valentine (Dunlap) White. He married Pauline Corder on March 24, 1944, in
Lexington. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry and
brother-in-law, Francis Keeney.

Virginia A. WALSTON 91, of Elwood,NE,  formerly of Lexington, NE, died Oct. 22,
2011, at the Lexington Regional Health Center. Funeral Services will be held
Oct. 26, 2011, at Lexington Christian Church. Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery at Lexington. She was born on March 24, 1920, to John H. and Mary Ellen
(Cronin) Leonard, in Atlanta, NE. She married Dale Walston in Ventura, CA, on
April 3, 1942. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; one sister,
Florence and three brothers, Harold, Donald and Dale.

Willa Marie (Phillips) HALL, 83, of Lincoln, NE, died  Oct. 23, 2011 at
Lancaster Manor in Lincoln. Graveside burial services will be held Oct. 29, 2011
at the Jewell Cemetery, west of Sumner, NE. Willa was born on Dec. 23, 1927 at
Sumner to Levi and Ethel Phillips. She married Alva Johnson on Dec. 24,
1944. she married Kenneth Foss of Elwood, NE. She married Kenneth Foss of
Elwood. Willa was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Ethel Lashley
Phillips; husbands, Alva Johnson, Kenneth Foss and Melvin Hall; two sons,
Darrell Johnson and Douglas Johnson; one grandson and one brother, Murle
Phillips.

Harold LANTZ, 80, of Lexington, NE, died Oct. 1, 2011, at Lexington Regional
Health Center in Lexington. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Oct.
29, 2011, at the Eagles Club in Lexington. He was born March 22, 1931, in Dawson
County, to William L. and Mabel (DeVol) Lantz. Harold was united in marriage to
Clara Hemphill on Dec. 26, 1988 in Lexington. Harold was preceded in death by
his parents; one son, Mike and one sister, Mildred Phillips.

Nick V. LONGLY,  62, of Kearney, NE, died Oct. 23, 2011 at St. Luke’s Good
Samaritan Village in Kearney. A memorial mass will be Oct. 27 at Prince of Peace
Catholic Church in Kearney. Interment will be in the Kearney Cemetery. Nick was
born Jan. 7, 1949 in Lexington to Ronald and Mona (Bauer) Longly. He was married
to Claire (Harris) Schott in Las Vegas, NV, on Sept. 2, 1996.

Opal Iva (Hall) STUBBS, age 93, of Beaver City, NE, formerly of Lexington, NE,
died Oct. 26, 2011 at the Beaver City Manor at Beaver City. She was born June
13, 1918 at Cabool, MO., to Samuel W. and M. Alverda (Goosic) Hall. She married
B. MARION STUBBS on June 27, 1937 at Norton, KS. She was preceded in death by
her parents; daughter, Sondra; husband, Marion who died Aug 27, 1998; sisters,
Verna and Clara and brother Charles.

Herbert M. STRUEMPLER, age 86, of Broken Bow, NE, formerly of Oconto, NE, died
Oct. 27, 2011 at Heritage Hall in Broken Bow. Services will be held Oct. 29,
2011 at the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo Community. Burial with military
honors will be in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. He was born Oct. 27, 1925 west
of Oconto, NE,  to Frederick “Fritz” and Minnie (Schwarze) Struempler. Herb
married Elsie Knispel on Jan. 20, 1948 at the Christ Lutheran Church, southwest
of Oconto. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, William,
Gerald, Fritz, Erich and Theodore and three sisters, Edna, Erna and Lottie.

Sherman E. LEHMANN, age 81, of Eustis, NE, passed away Oct. 30, 2011 at his home
in Eustis. Services will be held Nov. 2, 2011 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church
at Eustis. He was born Feb.8, 1930 at Frontier Co., NE, to Harvey and Ethel
(Koch) Lehmann. Sherman married Nora June Jorges on Aug. 12, 1956 at the Salem
Lutheran Church at Elwood, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and his
wife in 2008.

Leland “Bud” M. PETERSON, 69, of Grand Island, NE, died Oct. 29, 2011 at Saint
Francis Medical Center. Memorial services will be at All Faiths Funeral Home
Chapel.  Burial of ashes will be in Grand Island City Cemetery. Bud was born
Sept. 21, 1942, at Bowman, N.D., the son of Merril and Frieda (Kercher)
Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Leroy
Peterson.

Donald E. NICHELSON, age 58, of Cozad, NE, died Oct. 28, 2011 at his home in
Cozad. Services held Nov. 4, 2011 at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial with military honors in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, north of Cozad.
He was born Nov. 16, 1952 at Cozad, to Donald and Eva (McCance) Nichelson. Don
married Sandra Lou Laird on Sept. 5, 1982 at Holly, CO. He was preceded in death
by his parents and two grandsons, Jeffery Andrews and Colton Thayer.
