Electric, Omaha, retiring from there after 25 years. Moved to Columbus where she

COLUMBUS - David W. BOYD, 67, of Columbus, died May 8, 2011 at his home. 
Born Sept 6, 1943, Columbus, to Eugenia and Gayle Boyd. Lived and worked 
in Denver, Color., and Albuquerque, N.M., before serving in the Army in 1966. 
Returned to Columbus to join his father and uncle in the family business, Boyd 
Hardware. Opened Boyd Frame Shop in Loveland, Colo., and later moved to 
Kearney where he owned and operated an Equestrian Center. Most recently

COLUMBUS - Wilma Esther KILLHAM, 90, of Columbus, died May 8, 2011, at

Pump Company, retiring in 1990.  Was co-founder of Columbus Hydraulics and

Born Mar 1, 1907 in Schuyler, the first child of Alfred Arthur and Josephine 
Krivohlavek Stone. Received her R.N. from Nicholas Senn Hospital School of 
Nursing in Omaha in 1928; then returned to Schuyler, working as a private 
duty nurse for Dr Fred Kolouch. Married Ernest Edward DeBower, Feb 17, 1931 
at First Lutheran church, Omaha. Returned to nursing in 1953 at Schuyler 
Memorial Hospital; named co-director of nursing in 1957 and served in that 
position until retiring Dec 15, 1972. Preceded by her parents; husband on 
Oct 11, 1979; sisters, Elsie Stone Moroan on May 10, 2004 and Helen Stone 
Donovan on Feb 24, 2007; and her sons-in-law, Richard A. Johnson on

on the family farm many years; moved to Columbus after his wife’s death. Preceded by

Church, rural Auburn. Burial in St John’s (Stone) Lutheran Cemetery, rural Auburn. 

PORTLAND, Ore. – Paul R. HESPE, died May 9, 2011, Portland, Ore. Born 
June 8, 1913, Leigh, to William and Anna (Loseke) Hespe. Served in the 
US Army from 1945-1946. Worked as an accountant and controller for 
several prominent lumber manufacturing companies in the Portland area. 
Married Geneva. Preceded by his wife; parents; sisters, Alice Gillis and 
Esther Wurdeman; and brothers, Loren, Edmund, Arthur, Harold and

Anderson. Taught school at Madison Dist. No. 49; lived in Omaha for a short time; 
then moved back to Newman Grove. Married Obed “Jack” Kamrath at Trinity Lutheran 
Church. Farmed in the Newman Grove area for many years; moved to Newman Grove 
and worked at Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home from 1982 until retiring in 2004. Preceded 
by her husband in 1982; two brothers; and one sister. Services Monday at Trinity

HUMPHREY – Mariette OLMER, 87, of Humphrey, died May 19, 2011 at Cottonwood 
House, Columbus. Born July 3, 1923, Platte Center, to Vincent Macken Sr and Ella

Coast to Coast Hardward store in Julesburg Colo., and later lived in Rapid 
City, S.D. Lived in Columbus several years before retiring to Creston. 
Preceded by her parents; husband; son, Alan Bieberdorf; infant daughter 
in 1939; siblings, Emil, Hulda, Arnold and Clarence. Services July 13 at 
St Peter’s Lutheran Church, Creston. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Creston.

RISING CITY – Shirley McLAUGHLIN, 57, of Rising City, died May 15, 2011 at
