Hohl, 79, of Wahoo, passed away Feb. 26. Robert was born on Nov. 4, 1931 to Clarence G. and Emma (Novak) Hohl in Omaha. He married Ethel Schroeder of Platte Center on Aug. 29, 1953 in Columbus. Upon graduation he served as a First Lieutenant and pilot in the U S Air Force. He returned to Wahoo and joined his father, Clarence G. Hohl and grandfather, John G. Hohl at the Wahoo State Bank. She was born Mar 13, 1922 in Weston to Louis and Clara Kubista. Her father was the award-winning photographer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Royal Amos Montague. TAYLOR (1933 - 2011) YORK – Leslie Scott Taylor, 79, of York, died Feb. 26 at Phoenix, Ariz. He was born on Feb. 3, 1933 to Helen E. and Leslie O. Taylor in North Bend. Cooper, 37, died unexpectedly on Mar 1 in Goodland, KS. Toby was born on Feb. 21, 1974 to Bill and Ramona Mae Cooper in Grant, NE, the youngest of six children. Peckham, 101, Lincoln, died Mar 7. He was born May 8, 1909 in Palmyra to George Eben and Minnie (Wall) Peckham on a farm 1 1/2 miles east of Palmyra. He met his wife, Gladys in the 1930's at Prairie Home Church. They were married on Dec. 28, 1977. The groom was 68 and the bride was 63. It was the first marriage for both of them. He had been in all 50 states, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The Peckhams enjoyed many trips together before her death in 2009. Gladys, his parents, and his sisters, Hazel Myers, Edna Anderson, Mary Ringland, Lucille Cash Ringland, Sara Conditt, and Velma Jacobsen preceded him in death. Elda DUERR (1908 - 2011) LOUISVILLE – Elda L. (Thieman) Duerr, 103, died Mar 9, 2011. She was born Jan. 31, 1908 in rural Ashland to Herman and Ida (Blum) Thieman. She worked on that farm for most of her life with her parents and Marvin Sutton, who arrived on the orphan train in 1904 and lived with the family his whole life. She was married to Lawrence Duerr in 1981. They lived in rural Louisville for 16 years until his death in 1997. She was preceded in death by husband, Lawrence Duerr; sisters, Carrie Reinke and Margaret Stewart; brother (orphan train) Marvin Sutton. Arnold PRICE (1932 - 2011) BOULDER, Colo. – Arnold Price, 78, of Boulder, Colo. died Feb. 19 in Fort Collins, Colo., after a long illness. He was born Dec. 5, 1932 to John and Vivian (Miller) Price in Wahoo. He married his wife, Lillian, in May of 1954 in Albuquerque, N.M. Inurnment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colo. John L. PRICE (1943 - 2011) FLORENCE, Colo. – John L. Price, 67, of Florence, Colo. died Feb. 26 after a lengthy illness. John was born Aug. 6, 1943 to John and Vivian (Miller) Price in Wahoo. He was deployed to Vietnam in 1967 where he was involved in many battles. He was wounded twice, but received a Purple Heart. He received a Navy Accommodation "V" for valor, The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Republic Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Meritorious Unit Citation, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Commendation and Navy Unit Citation. He retired from the service as a Master Sergeant and moved to Colorado. He married his wife, Paula, on July 29, 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arnold Price; and a sister, Laverne "Dimpy" Price Glass. Funeral services were held Mar 5 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canon City, Colo. He served as a gun crewman in the heavy artillery division in the U S Army from 1942 to 1946. He was awarded two Bronze Stars for his service.
