Michael Lee ANDERSON age 47, of Osceola, NE, passed away on Nov. 21, 2011 in Osceola. 
Funeral services were Nov. 26, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola. Inurnment in 
the Osceola Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father Lee Anderson; sister Nicole 
LeeAnn Anderson; and grandparents Max and Alliene Lott and Kenneth and Amy Anderson.

Dennis C. PETERSON, age 64, died Nov. 17, 2011 in Pittsford, NY. He was preceded in death 
by his father in 1988. The funeral for Dennis was held Nov. 23, 2011 at Salem Lutheran Church.   
Interment was in the Stromsburg Cemetery.

Robert “Robe” P. HEINDRYCKX Jr., age 61 of Osceola, NE, passed away Nov.19, 2011. 
Memorial services were held Nov. 23, 2011 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Osceola.  
Inurnment was in the Osceola Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister 
Mary Ellen, and nephew Matt Woita.

Fred L. LAVICKY, age 68, of Stromsburg, NE, passed away Nov. 14, 2011 at his home in 
Stromsburg. Funeral services were held Nov. 17, 2011 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in 
Osceola. Interment was in the Osceola Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his 
parents Frank and Martha.

Carolyn Lou LARSON, age 72, of Stromsburg, NE,  passed away Dec. 4, 2011.
Funeral services were held Dec. 7, 2011 at the Midwest Covenant Home Chapel. 
Interment was in the Stromsburg Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her 
parents Caria and Mattie Sauter and one sister Hazel Sauter.

Helen Frances Koehler Johnson RUTTER, age 91, resident of Gold Crest Retirement Center 
in Adams, NE, formerly of Beatrice , NE, and Osceola, NE, died on Nov. 30, 2011, in Adams. 
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother Milton Knapp, and 
daughters-in-law Camille Kaminsky Johnson, Marilyn Foulk Johnson, and Paula Cotter 
Johnson. Cremation has taken place. A celebration honoring Helen’s life held Dec. 28, 2011
at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Osceola.

Duane E. BLASE, 77, of Hordville, NE, died Dec. 9. 2011, in Grand Island, NE.  Funeral 
services were held Dec. 14th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Polk, NE. Interment 
in the church cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Megan 
Renee Anderson; daughter-in-law Donna Blase; and step-mother - Eatheal Blase.

Floyd C. MERCHANT, 100, of York, NE, formerly of Polk, NE, died Dec. 6, 2011. Memorial 
services were held Dec. 13th at Arbor Drive Community Church in York. A private family 
interment was held at the Arborville Cemetery near Polk prior to the Memorial Service. 
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; his grandson Jeff Dinwiddie 
and his infant granddaughter Bethany Merchant; great granddaughter  Brettania Fausto; 
and one brother Robert Merchant.

Karen Mae JOHNSON, age 51, of Osceola, NE, passed away Dec. 15, 2011. Funeral 
services were held Dec. 20, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Osceola. Interment 
was in the Osceola Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and 
Mary Sterup.

Virgil GULBRANDSON, age 85, of Stromsburg, NE, passed away Dec. 17, 2011. Graveside 
services were held Dec. 20, 2011. Interment was in the Stromsburg Cemetery. He was 
preceded in death by his wife Betty; son Lavern; his parents Birgir and Rosie; six brothers 
and two sisters.

Paul Norman WALGREN, age 90, of Osceola, NE, passed away Dec. 20, 2011. Memorial services 
were held Dec. 27, 2011 at the United Methodist Church. Inurnment was in the Osceola Cemetery 
with Masonic Rites and Military Rites by Osceola Legion Post #91. He was preceded in death by his 
wife Sandra; one son Tracy and his parents Charles and Norma.

Memorial services for Ron ECKDAHL held Dec. 30, 2011 at the Chadron Christian Church. 
He died Dec. 18, 2011. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Evelyn Eckdahl. 
A memorial service for family members will be held at a later date.
