Lloyd DYE
A memorial Mass for Lloyd W. Dye, age 82 of West Point, formerly of Broken 
Bow, was Jan. 2, 2010, at St. Joseph's Retirement Community-Chapel in 
West Point. Interment was in St. Michael's Cemetery with military honors. 
Lloyd died Dec. 29, 2009 in West Point. He was preceded in death by his 
parents; brother, Howard Dye and a son-in-law, Roger Badberg. 
Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Judy BISHOP
Judy Ann Bishop, 57, of Lyons, died Dec. 29, 2009 after a courageous 
battle with cancer. A funeral Mass was held Jan. 4, 2010, at St. Joseph's 
Catholic Church in Lyons. Burial was at the Lyons Cemetery. She was 
preceded in death by her father, Alvin Vetick; mother-in-law, Lavonne 
Bishop and four infant grandchildren.

Ardis SHADA
Funeral services for Ardis Shada, 76, Jan. 8, 2010, at Moser Memorial 
Chapel, Fremont. Ardis died Jan. 2, 2010, at her home in Fremont. She 
was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Anna (Filz) Bunn; 
daughters, Lou Ann Shada; a sister, Irene Goebel and two 
brothers, Dale and Harry Bunn.Moser Memorial 
Chapel, Fremont, is in charge of arrangements.

Lorna BREHMER
A funeral service for Lorna Brehmer was Jan. 4, 2010, at St. Paul 
Lutheran Church, Bancroft. Burial will be a later date. Lorna died 
Dec. 27, 2009, at the Wisner Care Center. She was preceded in 
death by her parents; her husband, Edgar; two children; two 
brothers and a sister.

Stephen SMITH
Stephen W. "Steve" Smith, 52, of Central City, died Jan. 8, 2010 in 
Grand Island. A memorial service was Jan. 12, 2010, at Wagner 
Funeral Home in Central City. Burial was in the Central City Cemetery.

Voyce OSWALD
Voyce Oswald, 57, died Jan. 9, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. 
A celebration of life service was Jan. 13, 2010, at the Lower Deer 
Creek Mennonite Church near Wellman. Burial was in the Lower 
Deer Creek Cemetery. Yoder-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation 
Service in Kalona was in charge of arrangements.

Donna CAROTHERS
Donna Young - Carothers, age 74, died on Jan. 9, 2010, in her home in 
Wichita, Kan., where she lived for the past 20 years. A visitation with 
family present to celebrate Donna's life will be held at Central
Community Church Chapel on Jan. 31, 2010 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. 
Arrangements for cremation and a private family memorial service 
have been made.

Virginia BUSE
Mass of Christian burial for Virginia Buse, age 47 of West Point, on 
Jan. 16, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point. Interment 
in St. Michael's Cemetery in West Point. Virginia died on Jan. 12, 2010
at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer.

Ruth HOEFENER
Ruth O. Hoefener, 92, formally of Beemer, died Jan. 2, 2010, in a 
Topeka, KS hospital. Cremation has taken place and no services 
are planned. At a later date, Ruth's cremains will be in Canon 
City with her parents.

Loraine TOEBBEN
Loraine L. Toebben, 87, died Jan. 16, 2010, Fremont. A funeral service 
was held Jan. 19, 2010, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Arlington. 
Burial was in the church cemetery. Reckemeyer-Moser Funeral 
Home, Arlington, was in charge of arrangements.

L. MITCHELL
L. (Mitch) Mitchell, 89, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1958, died 
Nov. 30, 2009. Services were Dec. 5, 2009 at St. Mary's Cathedral. 
Inurnment was at St. Mary's Columbarium.

Mary WISNIESKI
Mary J. "Judie" Wisnieski, 68, of Diamond City, Ark., formerly of Dodge, died 
Jan. 14, 2010, at the University Hospital in Omaha. A funeral Mass was 
Jan. 18, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norfolk. Burial was at 
Wenceslaus Cemetery at Dodge. Stokely Funeral Home, West Point 
and Dodge, was in charge of arrangements. She was preceded in 
death by her parents; a brother, Ronnie and a brother, in infancy.

Ardyce MILLER
Ardyce Miller, 78, of Bancroft, died Jan. 15, 2010. Services were 
Jan. 18, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church rural Bancroft with burial 
in the church cemetery. 

Angela KRUGER
Angela (Angie) Kruger, 80, died Jan. 14, 2010, in Schuyler. Mass of 
Christian burial was Jan. 19, 2010, at St. Augustine's Catholic 
Church, Schuyler. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery. Kracl Funeral 
Chapel, Schuyler, was in charge of arrangements.

Shirley JOHNSON
Shirley M. Johnson 81 years, of Oakland, died Jan. 20, 2010, at the 
Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. A funeral service was held 
Jan. 25, 2010, at the St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Lyons. Burial 
was in the Oakland Cemetery. Pelan Funeral Services was in charge 
of arrangements. 

Don BEERBOHM
Don Beerbohm, 71, of Columbus, died Jan. 14, 2010, at Bergan Mercy 
Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services were Jan. 18, 2010, at St. Isidore 
Catholic Church, Columbus. Interment was at All Saints
Cemetery, Columbus, with military honors by Hartman 
Post #84, with the American Legion Honor Guard.

George VRBA
Mass of Christian burial for George Vrba, age 77 of Dodge, Jan. 28, 2010
at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Interment in St. Michael's 
Cemetery at West Point. George died Jan. 25, 2010 in West Point.
Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is in charge of 
arrangements.

Pamela SCHWEDHELM
Pamela E. Schwedhelm, 39, of Kennard, died Jan. 19, 2010, at the 
Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She was in a two-vehicle 
accident Jan. 19 in Washington County. Funeral services were 
held Jan. 22, 2010, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment 
was in the Arlington Cemetery. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home 
was in charge of arrangements.

Robin BROEKEMEIER
Robin Broekemeier, age 46, of Elkhorn, died Jan. 15, 2010. A 
celebration of her life was held at her home on Jan. 23, 2010
with family and friends.
