Grant Tribune Sentinel Jan 2010 Frank Paulsen MORT was born at Tate, Neb. on Feb. 2, 1914 and died Jan. 3, 2010 in Sterling, Colo. He was the son of Clarence Ward and Frieda Mae Mort and younger brother to Lester Mort. Frank married Evelyn Estella From Aug. 12, 1936. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Lester, an infant baby brother and his daughter, Janet Shafer. A remembrance gathering was held Jan. 8, 2010 at the Tennant Funeral Home at Sterling. Funeral services were held Jan. 9, 2010 in Venango, at the Community Church. Juanita ENSZ was born on June 24, 1929 at Trementina, N.M. She was the youngest of five children born to Lizardo and Julia Encinias Sanchez. Juanita was married to David Ensz on April 22, 1951 at Inman, Kan. She died Jan. 9, 2010. She had reached the age of 80 years. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her four brothers. Funeral services were Jan. 12, 2010 at the Golden Plains Mennonite Church west of Madrid, Neb. Burial was in the Madrid Cemetery. Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant, Neb. was in charge of arrangements. Lillian SEIP was born on Jan. 13, 1928 in Chase County SE of Venango, Neb. She was the only child of Ralph and Laura Mefford Maine. Lillian was married to Gerald Seip in Scottsbluff, Neb. on Sept. 15, 1946. Lillian continued to maintain her farm home after Gerald died in August of 1999. She died at St. John’s on Jan. 9, 2010. She had reached the age of 81. In addition to her husband, Lilian was preceded in death by a son, Merrill, who died in Jan. 2007. Funeral services were Jan. 13, 2010 at the Venango Community Church. Burial was in the Venango Cemetery. Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant, Neb. was in charge of arrangements. Jim EASTIN, 73, originally from Madrid, Neb., died on Jan. 11, 2010 in Ogallala, Neb. He was born on Aug. 4, 1936 at Madrid to Bill and Liz Teichert Eastin. Graveside committal of cremains was held on Jan. 16, 2010 at the Madrid Cemetery. Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Bruce PEAK was born on Jan. 18, 1916 on the Peak family farm south of Madrid, Neb. He was the fourth of seven children born to Floyd and Vada Inman Peak. Bruce helped his father farm and he was married to Grace Lawson on Feb. 6, 1935 at Grant, Neb. In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by five sisters: Violet Edmond, Vesta Barto,l Goldie Keller, Virginia Shores and an infant, Gurna Peak; one grandson Dary Fitzpatrick and a granddaughter-in-law, Kristi Peak. Funeral services were Jan. 18, 2010 at the Grant United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery. Eldon A. PETERSON, 88, died Jan. 16, 2010, at his home. Eldon was born Nov. 19, 1921 in Grant, Neb., to Albert and Sophie Goehry Peterson. On Oct. 29, 1948 Eldon married Suzie Higgins in Ogallala, Neb. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers Leonard Peterson and Bernie Peterson. Funeral Services were held Jan. 19, at the Draucker Funeral Home. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery in Grant. Agnes EVANS was born on Aug. 8, 1923 southeast of Grant, Neb. She was the second of three children born to A. Albert and Selina French Bogaert. Agnes was married to Ed Evans on Jan. 20, 1943 in Ogallala, Neb. They moved to a farm south of Madrid, Neb. Ed and Agnes moved December 2009 to the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island, Neb. She was admitted to the St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island the first week of January and died at St. Francis on Jan. 16, 2010. She had reached the age of 86. In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her two brothers, Eldon Wayne Bogaert and Burton Bogaert. Funeral services were held on Jan. 19, 2010 at the Madrid United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery. Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Timothy Lee KRAMER, 45, of Wallace, Neb. died Jan. 9, 2010 at his home. Tim was born Sept. 2, 1964 in Deadwood, S.D., the fourth son of Arnold and Rhonda Kramer. He was a gifted artist and musician, playing several different musical instruments. A memorial service was held Jan. 18, 2010. Inurnment will be private. Max Harlan SLAGLE, son of John (Jack) and Myrtle Slagle, passed away Nov. 25, 2009 at his home in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, from complications of bronchial pneumonia. In 1969, he expatriated to Australia where he taught high school geography. He leaves two brothers, Jerry of Thermopolis, Wyo. and Ted and wife Jean of Ogallala, Neb.; and a sister Jeanne Sherman of Esterbrook, Wyo. There was cremation. Harold HERMANN was born on Dec. 31, 1923 in Seward County near Ruby, Neb. He was the oldest of four children born to Benjamin and Hazel Gallagher Hermann. In 1942 Harold was inducted into the Army Air Corps during WW II. He served with a B29 bomber squadron in India and the Pacific Islands. Harold was married to Mildred Rinehart of Sidney in Aug. of 1955. Harold had been failing in health the past several months and went to Lincoln for surgery in December. He died on Jan. 18, 2010 in Grant, NE. He had reached the age of 86. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife and his three sisters, Alice, Miriam and Phyllis. Funeral services were held Jan. 21 at the Grant United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery with a flag presentation by the Perkins County Veterans. Thomas J. KELSO, 87, of Wheat Ridge, Colo. was born June 14, 1922 in Madrid, Neb. and passed away Jan. 18, 2010 in St. Anthony’s Central Hospice. Tom was a WWII Army veteran from 1942-1945 in the Pacific Theater. He was preceded in death by his wife Dona Gail, his son James and his stepdaughter Jacqueline Tyler. Internment at Ft.
