Funeral services held Dec. 6 at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel. Burial in the Richland Cemetery. Arlene Lindquist, daughter of Henry Andrew and Emmaline Elizabeth (Barber) Hayes, was born in Utica on Mar 11, 1926. At the age of 5, Arlene and her twin sister, Darlene, were adopted in 1931 during hard economic time by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lindquist. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Harold, Robert and Virgil Hayes and William Sonder and sister, Genevieve McCulley. David (Mike) HARRIS David Glen “Mike” Harris, 96, of Central City died Dec. 8, 2010. Memorial services Dec. 10 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City. Burial in the Central City Cemetery. Mike was born July 25, 1914, in Chapman to William D. and Josephine (Farrell) Harris. On Feb. 20, 1952, he married Genevive “Jenny” Steinke. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, James Harris, Leo Harris, Orville Harris, Francis “Chick” Harris, John “Jack” Harris and Clarence “Swede” Harris; four sisters, Hanora “Belle” Atwood, Iva Claire Widman, Mary Eleanor Frazier and Helen “Tad” Harris. Lorraine LEE Lorraine Mae Lee, 87, of Aurora died Dec. 8, 2010. Memorial services held Dec. 10, 2010 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora, with burial of the cremains in the Ord City Cemetery. Lorraine was born Nov. 22, 1923 at Callaway, to Emil and Clara (Moeller) Walberg. Lorraine attended Business School in Hastings where she met Starling D. Lee who was in the service at that time. They were married June 30, 1945 at Smith Center, Kan. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, son Alan Lee and sister Eileen Walberg. Sonny RASMUSSEN Edgar “Sonny” Rasmussen, 78, of Marquette, died Dec. 11, 2010 in Aurora. Memorial services Dec. 15, at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Burial in the Central City Cemetery. Edgar was born on Oct. 4, 1932 in Central City to Edgar and Vera (Parsons) Rasmussen. He entered the U. S. Navy on Mar 19, 1951 and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on Mar 19, 1955. He married Betty L. Spencer on June 10, 1952 at the United Methodist Church in Central City. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Don Glantz; and one grandchild, Kristen Murphy. Louise SHERWOOD Louise R. Basore Sherwood, 74, of Hutchinson, Kan., died Dec. 11, 2010. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services Dec. 17 at the Elliott Mortuary. A memorial service also be held Dec. 21 at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Inurnment at the Aurora City Cemetery in Aurora. Louise was born July 15, 1936 in Aurora, the daughter of Russell and Mildred Christenson Holloway. She married Jerry D. Basore on May 26, 1958 in Aurora. He died Sept. 19, 2000. She later married John Sherwood on Febr. 6, 2002 in Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Paula Basore. Betty McDONALD Betty J. McDonald, 84, of Grand Island, died Dec. 12, 2010, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island. Burial in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Betty was born Mar 7, 1926 at Kearney, the daughter of Adolph and Mamie (Klein) Rohrich. Betty married Charles “Shorty” McDonald on May 21, 1947 at Wood River. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mavis WYATT Mavis Wyatt, age 77, of Aurora, died Dec. 26, 2010, at her home. Funeral services held Dec. 29 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery. Mavis Jean Wyatt, daughter of Leslie G. and Rena E. (Rasher) Taylor, was born in Abilene, Kan., on Feb. 18, 1933. Mavis was married to Glenn (Tom) Wyatt on Feb. 17, 1951 at Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two brothers and two great-grandsons. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Roy JUETT Roy Juett, age 86, of Ottawa, Kan., formerly of Aurora, died Dec. 24, 2010. Funeral service held Dec. 30 at Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora, followed by a graveside service at the Aurora Cemetery. Roy Franklin Juett, son of Burt and Pearl Cornelius (Chapman) Juett, was born in Giltner, Neb., on May 24, 1924. Roy grew up on the Juett homestead near Giltner. Roy was married to Inez Mae Livingston on Mar 23, 1948 at Aurora. They had three children. They lived in Wellsville, Kan., when Inez passed away on Nov. 28, 1992. Roy was married to Marion Crawford and they lived in Garnett, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Inez; sister, Edna Link and brother, Lester Juett. Martha KERR Former Aurora resident Martha Kerr, 96, of Grand Island, died Dec. 14, 2010. Graveside services held Dec. 18 at the Aurora Cemetery. Martha Kerr was born in Ohio on Aug. 8, 1914. She married Arden Maro Kerr on Feb. 18, 1936 at Daly City, CA. Arden died on Feb. 13, 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Alan NISSEN Alan H. Nissen, 77, of Grand Junction, Colo., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010. Memorial service held Dec. 22 at the American Lutheran Church in Grand Junction, Colo. Inurnment will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Marquette at a later date. Alan was born April 6, 1933 to H. Harald and Marie Gravengaard Nissen. Alan married Sharon Snoberger at Aurora on Jan. 11, 1953. He then entered the U. S. Army in May of 1953 and served two years. Bill BISH J. Wm. “Bill” Bish, 80, of West Point, died Dec. 13, 2010. Memorial services were held Dec. 17 at Trinity Church in West Point. Burial will be at a later date. Bill was born Sept. 8, 1930 in Giltner to Ervin and Florence (Wagner) Bish.
