Beverly Yvonne Hanneman was born June 18, 1951, in Highland, Kan., to Herbert and Shirley (Taylor) Hanneman. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Donna Lee, Phyllis and Betty Mae. Marie H. SCHMIDT, 97, of Arlington, died Aug. 12, 2010 in Blair. Services Aug. 17 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment in Fremont's Memorial Cemetery. Marie H. Petersen was born Dec. 6, 1912, in rural Washington, Neb., to Fred and Minnie (Markman) Petersen. On Feb. 24, 1932, she married Otto John Schmidt in Omaha. The couple raised their family on farms in Douglas County until 1945, before moving to a farm near Arlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto, in Sept of 1992; brothers, Henry, William, Carsen, Lawrence and Ervin; sisters, Bertha Wilke, Gladys Suhr, and Verna; and a great-grandson, Eric Lang. Former Blair resident Grace Marie PEARSON, who was born July 23, 1920, died Aug. 11, 2010. Services were Aug. 16, at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home. Interment was at Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by a son, John. Rosemarie VAN NORMAN, 68, died Aug. 12, 2010. Memorial Mass held Aug. 17 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Omaha. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. She was born Jan. 20, 1942, to Anthony and Gladys Weidner. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jackie Schulte; a brother, DeForest Weidner; and Danny Van Norman. Heafey-Heafey-Hoffmann- Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Winifred R.E. NELSON, 97, of Pipestone, Minn., died Aug. 13, 2010. Services Aug. 20, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Interment Aug. 23 in the Blair Cemetery. Winifred Rose Eileen Nikolaisen was born Dec. 4, 1912 in Moorhead, Iowa, to Christian and Theodora (Sorensen) Nikolaisen. On June 5, 1935, she married Frederick T. Paulsen in Moorhead. Her husband died in Mar 1950. On June 16, 1961, she married Oscar Nelson in Blair. Mr. Nelson died in Feb 2002. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Chris Nikolaisen; two stepbrothers, Ed Nielsen and Bob Nielsen; and two stepsisters, Frances Nolan and Charlet Gohn. Hartquist Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Robert L. GOLDBERG, 79, of Bennington, died Aug. 15, 2010. Funeral services were Aug. 19, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington. Interment with military honors provided by VFW Post 8332 and American Legion Post 71 of Arlington was at the Fontanelle Cemetery. Robert LaVern Goldberg was born Dec. 30, 1930, in rural Washington County to Clarence and Carrie (Kruse) Goldberg. He joined the U. S. Air Force and served as an MP. On May 8, 1953,he married Helen Wilds in Blair. The couple had four children. In addition to his wife and son, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Goldberg; two infant brothers; and a sister, Vera Andrews. Moser Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Former Blair resident Esther L. FISCHER, 78, of Creighton, died Aug. 20, 2010 in Norfolk. Funeral services Aug. 25, at Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. Interment in the Blair Cemetery. Shannon M. NEBITT, 28, of Blair, died Aug. 20, 2010, after a car accident on Highway 75 in Douglas County. Funeral service Aug. 25, at First Baptist Church in Blair. Shannon Marie O'Donnell was born April 11, 1982, in Blair. In 2002, she married Michael Robert Nebitt of Harper, KS. Paul M. KALKOWSKI, 62, of Kennard, died Aug. 21, 2010 in Blair. Graveside service held Aug. 26, at the Kennard Cemetery. Paul M. "Mike" Kalkowski was born Sept. 3, 1947, in Lynch to Francis X. and Verna (Burt) Kalkowski. On Aug. 1, 1977, he married Patricia Marks at Sisseton, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-sister, Helen Oberle. Mary Ann SKOOG, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, in Omaha. Services Aug. 25, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha. Graveside services at the Blair Cemetery.
