Osbourn Bennett. He served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Midway during WWII. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Carl Oestmann; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Bennett, Brian and Tina Bennett, Milford, and Leslie and Angela Bennett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sherman and Ruby Bennett, Lansing, Mich., Loren and Geraldine Bennett, Lincoln, and Gerald Bennett, Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services and inurnment will be scheduled at a later date in Greenleaf, Kan. Gerald "Jerry" DEVINE Gerald Matthew Devine, 65, Seward, died Jan. 13, 2003, in Seward. Born Aug. 3, 1937, in Ishpeming, Mich., to Roland Mathew and Maybelle (MacDougall) Devine. Preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Maybelle Devine. A private family service and inurnment will be scheduled at another date. Luella C. FOLTZ Luella C. Foltz, 81, Columbus, died Jan. 17, 2003, in Columbus. Born Oct. 17, 1921, in St. Bernard to Frank and Marie (Glaser) Pfeifer. Preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; and brothers, Francis, Lambert, Edward and Anthony Pfeifer. Funeral services were Jan. 21 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Ervin W. HAASE Ervin W. Haase, 63, Seward, died Jan. 18, 2003, in Lincoln. Born Sept. 22, 1939, at Garland to Herbert and Anna M. (Murray) Haase. Married Darlene Armagost in Sept. 1958, at the First English Lutheran Church in Rising City. On Oct. 8, 1982, he married Judy Lucille Van Ness in Seward. Preceded in death by his father, Herbert Haase; his wife, Judy; his brother and sister-in-law, Virgil and Leona Haase; and grandson, Colton Haase. Funeral services were Jan. 21 at Wood-Zabka Funeral Home in Seward. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery, Seward. C. J. HUISMAN Clair Jay Huisman, 55, Columbus, died Jan. 18, 2003, in Columbus. Born Aug. 30, 1947, in LeMars, Iowa to Cornelius "Case" and Anna Marie (Van Asselt) Huisman. He married Machelle Girard. On Mar 29, 1991, he married Roberta Diana Sharp in York. Preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Anna; brother, Claude; and stepmother, Bernice Huisman. Funeral services were, Jan. 23, 2003, at Wood-Zabka Funeral Home in Seward. Interment is at Blue Mound Cemetery in Milford. Keith BOSHART Keith David Boshart, Milford, 92, died Jan. 23, 2003, in Milford. Born July 4, 1910, in Milford to David and Mary (Davidson) Boshart. Married Geraldine Becker on April 5, 1942, in San Diego. Preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Boshart, and two sisters, Helen Stahly and Emma Sehnert. Funeral services were Jan. 25, at the Milford United Methodist Church and Masonic services conducted by Blue River Lodge 30 AF&AM. Interment was at Blue Mound Cemetery, Milford. Velma M. PAULSEN Velma Minnie Paulsen, 92, Beaver Crossing, died Jan. 9, 2003. Born near Cordova Nov. 3, 1910, to Johann and Fredericke (Wullbrandt) Noler. Married Carl Paulsen at her parents' home near Cordova on April 17, 1929. Preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her son, Dale Paulsen; her grandson, Steve Paulsen; infant great-granddaughter, Rebecca; sons-in-law, Clair Stutzman, Ivan Baack and Neal Sell; brothers, George, Ed, Harry and John Noler; sisters, Ella Staehr, Maggie Thomsen, Carrie Zastrow and Nora Schernikau. Funeral services were Jan. 13, at the United Methodist Church in Beaver Crossing. Interment was at Beaver Crossing Cemetery. Lyle POHLMAN Lyle Pohlman, 75, Thornton, Colo., died Jan. 10, 2003. Born to Reinholdt and Lena Pohlman. Graduated from Garland High School and joined the U. S. Navy serving in the South Pacific during WWII. Preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; son, Randy; and brother, Darrell. Funeral services were Jan. 15, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Thornton. Interment was at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. Marvin Joseph PROCHASKA, 47, Seward, died Jan. 15, 2003, in Seward. Born July 2, 1955, in David City to Albin Edward and Lorraine Veronica (Polacek) Prochaska. Preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Prochaska; and his sister, Sherry Prochaska. Funeral services were Jan. 19 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Seward. Interment was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Ulysses. August H. "Augie" MINZEL, 88, Beatrice, died Jan. 16, 2003. Born Jan. 20, 1914, in rural Pleasant Dale to Arthur and Mary (Minchow) Minzel. He married Mabel Smetter at Goehner on Feb. 9, 1937. Preceded in death by his son-in-law, Fran Brakhage; brothers, John and Harry Minzel; sisters, Louida Wilson, Anna Woebbecke and Lucille Minzel; grandson, Rodney Minzel, Jr.; and great-grandson, Kyler Brakhage. Funeral services were Jan. 18 at St. John Lutheran Church, Beatrice. Interment was at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln. Wilber Vernon BOEKA Wilber Vernon Boeka, 78, Omaha, died Jan. 9, 2003, in Elkhorn. Born Oct. 29, 1924, in Seward to William and Elsie (Heumann) Boeka. Served in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946 as a gunner on a B-24 airplane. He received a Victory Medal. He married Lois Hartmann in 1945. He married Joyce Marr in 1971 and lived in Omaha for most of his life. Preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd and Norman Boeka; and sister, Erma Brown.
