Newspapers on microfilm - NSHS Holdings

NSGS (NE State Genealogical Society) - Ordering instructions and catalog of microfilm available by inter-library rental/loan. Holdings include newspapers, atlas & plat books, 1885 census, and miscellaneous (marriage, cemetery, etc) - click on Microfilm Rental.

     A more comprehensive set of newspaper microfilm is available for viewing at NSHS Library in Lincoln , OR you can arrange research by NSHS employees from those films.
     To see a list of newspapers for the county of interest to you, visit the IRIS UNL Catalog Subject Search. Enter "xxxx County Neb Newspapers", and then press the "search" button. The holdings of NSHS are cataloged on this website.
     Detailed lists of the newspapers which have been microfilmed are kept by NSHS in loose leaf notebooks, which they consult when you specify the research desired. Some reels are available by inter-library loan. See NSHS website for instructions & fees (Reference by Mail). Consult their Guide to Genealogical Research at NSHS for other materials available.
