SERVICES HELD FOR WAYNE L. JOHNSON ������
Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 13 at 11:00am from the Dorney and Farlinger Memorial Chapel in Monterey, Calif., for Wayne Lewis Johnson who died in a Monterey hospital on April 9, following a heat attack at the age of 55 years. ������
Rev. Elmer Roy officiated at the services. ������
Cremated remains were scattered at sea off the Point Lobos, California. ������
Wayne Lewis Johnson was born Dec 30, 1911 on Garfield Table near Arnold, Nebraska to Martha Eliza and Ollie Lewis Johnson. �����
In about 1920 he moved with his parents to Chadron, Nebraska where he received his education, graduating from High School in 1931. ������
He was baptized and joined the First Baptist Church in 1927. ������
With his parents he moved to Garfield in 1932 where he farmed for about three years with his father on the old family farm which his Grandfather Thomas Madeson Johnson had homesteaded. �It is now known as the Rollin Bay Place. ������
Mr. Johnson attended Utah University at Salt Lake City, Utah for two years. ������
He then lived in Montana until two years ago when he and his wife moved to Monterey Calif., where he was employed as a car salesman by the Graham Buick Co. ������
He married Mae (Dale) Hanlon on May 30, 1943, in Great Falls Montana. ������
Mr. Johnson was a member of Lodge 18 A.F. & A.M. of Bozeman, Montana and Rose Croix Scottish Rite Bodies, Great Falls Chapter. ������
In addition to his wife, he leaves a brother, Vernon Johnson of Billings, Montana, and a sister, Mrs. Kenneth Steele of Logan, Utah, and three nephews and two cousins in Nebraska & Aunts, Uncles and Cousins in California. ������
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father in July 1949 and his Mother in July 1965.
