The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints operates the Center, but all researchers are welcome. Access is provided through the main library in Salt Lake City, Utah, to the most extensive collection of genealogical records in the world, and these are usually available on microfilm for a nominal rental fee. Access is also provided to several LDS-developed databases which have millions of names. When planning to visit and use their computers, please call ahead to reserve a computer.

The Society's library has materials on Lancaster County and the city of Lincoln; some materials on other areas including exchange newsletter/quarterlies, etc.; several excellent general research guides, research guides to some specific topics and geographic areas, and other reference materials.

American Historical Society of Germans from Russia

This collection includes special indexes and materials relating to Germans from Russia with Family History Cards and Obituary Cards on file in the Genealogical department. Limited use by the public.

This unique museum is dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Germans who emigrated to Russia, then to the United States. The complex houses the society offices, archives and special displays. The Heritage Center comprises a summer kitchen, all-faiths chapel, store, blacksmith shop, railroad caboose and homes turned into exhibits.

Hours: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday; 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Tours available 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m. and noon Saturday. Closed Sunday, Monday and holidays. Special appointments are available.
