1883

O. W. BARTON and Miss Katie AMEN, married Sunday, February 24, 1883. Judge STRAUT performed the ceremony.

Tom WRAY's a boy. (From Saturday, 8 March 1883 paper)

Mrs. G. W. ASHBURN, a girl born Sunday morning last. Dr. VASTINE attended. (From Saturday, 23 June 1883 paper)

Frank ELLEDGE and Miss Elitha HUNTER, married June 19th at Indianola. Rev. BARTLETT officiated.

Ibid. Frank ELLEDGE was married on the 20th on Dry Creek by Elder BARTLEY, instead of the 19th at Indianola, as stated last week. Wife's name should have been Tehthe HUNTER. (From Saturday, 30 June 1883 paper)

Mr. Edward WILSON and Miss Lou DAVENPORT, married Wednesday at the residence of the Bride's parents in this city. Rev. BARTLEY, of Indianola, performed the ceremony. (Saturday, 21 July 1883)

Charles Henry, son of C. and M. A. BRIGHT, died at age 6 months of spinal meningitis on Thursday night. He was the youngest of 4 children. Funeral today at 10 o'clock. (Saturday, 28 July 1883)

James T., son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. LaTOURETTE, age 6 months, died Sunday, July 29th.

Edith and Ethel, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. CHASE died. (Saturday, 11 August 1883)

A girl born, Sunday morning, August 5th, to Mrs. Wm. BLOUNT.

A boy born, Wednesday, August 8th, to Mrs. John MURPHY.

Twin girls born, Wednesday night, to Mrs. John CHANEY. (Saturday, 22 September 1883 paper)

Died last Saturday, S. L. GREELEY. The funeral took place on Monday. Kleven Post, G. A. R., of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body. (Saturday, 22 September 1883)

Delbert VASTINE died November 22, 1883, aged 15 years, 1 month and 10 days. He was born in Richland township, Keokuk County, Iowa, October 12, 1868. He came to Hitchcock County with his parents June 23, 1879. Death has invaded our midst and called upon Dr. B. M. VASTINE and family to deliver up one of their loved ones.

1884

Nathaniel POLLARD and Miss R. Belle DAVIS were married Sunday, March 16, by Judge STRAUT at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs. Em. NEIFERT.

A daughter, born to the Frank ELLEDGE's last Tuesday. (Saturday, 29 March 1884)

Mabel, aged 6 months and 1 day, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. CHANEY died and the remains were interred Sunday. (Saturday, 29 March 1884)

Mrs. Andrew LARSON was laid away in the Culbertson Cemetery, last Saturday. She was burned to death in a prairie fire. (Saturday, 3 May 1884) Mr. LARSON's hands are better.

Mr. and Mrs. A. E. LYTLE of McCook, have a daughter born on Thursday evening. (Saturday, 10 May 1884)

A son born on Friday, May 16th to Mr. and Mrs. C. BRIGHT.

On Wednesday, June 11th, Calloway BURNS, brother of Dick BURNS, died at the T. J. C. ranch. He was about 20 years.

Died: At Culbertson, June 16th, ____mond CHASE aged 18 years, 2 months and 14 days. Mr CHASE was thrown from a pony on the 15th. His father and brother arrived on the night of the 17th. Mr. CHASE is a brother of A. CHASE of this place.

Boys born: to Mr. and Mrs. W. F. WILSON on Tuesday.
     To Mr. and Mrs. Harry COLE on Friday. (Saturday, 26 July 1884)

The infant daughter of O. LAWYER of Stratton died Thursday. (Saturday, 30 August 1884)

Grant PHELPS died of typhoid fever. The funeral was Friday. (Saturday, 29 March 1884)
