OAK CEMETERY
This is a private family cemetery and is only accessible through private land. On Hwy. 70, go 3 miles east of Westerville, Custer County, Nebraska, then 1 mile north, 1/2 mile east and 1/4 mile south in a field.
This cemetery is just west and slightly southwest from the Myrtle
School district schoolhouse - east of Westerville,
Nebraska - and is also sometimes known as the Myrtle Cemetery.
In 1977 it was noted that the cemetery fence was down and cattle had broken
off some of the stones and monuments inside. The following information
was gathered from the stones at that time.
Aldrigh, Caroline, wife of W. L. Aldrigh, died Sept 20, 1898, aged 63 years 6 months 5 days
Aldrigh, William L., died Oct 20, 1891 (age unreadable, looks like 13 yrs)
Austin, Eliza J., wife of J. Austin, died July 19, 1885, age 28 yrs 8 months 2 days
Austin, Mina J., daughter of J. Austin, died August 4, 1885, age 26 days
Austin, Laura May, daughter of J. & E. J. Austin, April 9, 1886, age 6 years 5 months 2 days
Conway, George P., son of D. and E. F. Conway, died Aug 23, 1895, age 2 months 22 days
Fost, Daniel M., died April 26, 1887, Age 21 years 11 mos 2 days
