The Preface to the book has been reproduced, in its entirety, as it not only gives credit to those who provided their labors, but is also a wonderful way to understand the writing process, and just how this unique volume of history came into being.
It also acknowledges published sources including books, newspaper and magazine articles, information from Centennial booklets, writings of specific persons - - even photo albums and scrapbooks provided information.
