Shuford Splawn, 64, of Henrietta, died Thursday at 6:50am in the Rutherford County hospital.
He was the son of the late John Tildone and Fanny Hayes Splawn. He was a native of Rutherford County and a retired textile employee. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Henrietta.
Survivors include his wife, Linne Brown Splawn; four sons, Eugene of Sandy Mush, S/Sgt Doyle Splawn of Germany, William of the home and Gerald of Henrietta; five daughters, Mrs Eloise Garren of Henrietta, Mrs Max Melton of Forest City, Mrs Norman Pilgrim of Charlotte, Mrs Jerry Byers of the Mount Vernon community, and Mrs Sam Nicholes of Henrietta; three sisters, Mrs Paul Tomblin of Spindale, Mrs Rose Rice and Mrs Belt Robbins, both of Rutherfordton; 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 3pm at the First Baptist church of Henrietta with Rev James Yelton officiating, assisted by Rev Bill Holland. Burial was in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
Harrelson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
