Oliver Baynard, 65, of Route 2, Ellenboro died Saturday night at the Rutherford hospital after a short illness.
He was a native of Rutherford County, son of Georgianna Lancaster Baynard and the late Martin Baynard.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Katherine Ruppe Baynard; six sisters, Mrs W M Hemline, Mrs Willie Shytles, Mrs Earl Francis, Mrs Floyd Cole, Miss Ruth Baynard and Mis Mae Baynard, all of Forest City; four brothers, K T Baynard of Forest City, Thomas Baynard and Luther Baynard of Spartanburg, SC, and Furman Baynard of Leesburg, Va.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3pm at the Florence Baptist Church with Revs Kenneth Lawson and Rev Dan Hardin officiating. Burial was in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
Padgett-King Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
