Mr John W Joy, 70, of Charleston, SC, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010. Services were held at Harrelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard and Masonic Rites conducted by Forest City Masonic Lodge #381.

Mr Joy served our country in the U S Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Joy and Emma Talbert Joy; and 2 sisters.

He is survived by wife of 47 years, Sudie Godfrey Joy; 1 son, Jason david Joy and wife Brenda of Timmonsville, SC; 2 grandchildren; and 1 brother, Pat Joy of Washington State.

Harrelson Funeral Home, Caroleen, NC is serving the family.
