Charles F Coker, 75, of 110 Washington Street, Forest City, died Wednesday at the VA Medical Cemeter in Salisbury.
He was a native of Rome, Georgia, son of the late Thomas and Bertha Carter Coker; retired employee of Florence Mill; veteran of World War II; member of the Florence Baptist Church and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Ina Williams Coker; one son, Barry Coker of Shelby; on daugther, Mrs Joyce Grant of Forest City; three brothers, Thomas Coker of Alexander Mills, Frank Coker of Bostic, and james Coker of Forest City; three sisters, Miss Grace Coker of Alexander, Mrs Jessie Webb of Forest City and Mrs Mary Edna Melton of Spartanburg, SC; two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2pm Friday at the Florence Baptist Church with Dr Bobby Gantt officiating. Burial will follow in the Alexander cemetery. The body will be placed in the church to lie in state at 1:30 pm. The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at padgett-King Mortuary.
